This complaint is about carpeting in our homes bought through Premier floors of Phoenix. I have been in this brand new home since October 20, 1998. I am a winter visitor so have only lived here 9 months.

As soon as 3 months past after moving in we started seeing what we thought was wear on our carpet. I called Premier floors, they sent out an inspector who said it was dirt. I had it steam cleaned twice since and there appears to be flaws in the carpet.

They tell me I have to pay for another inspector, after having complained to others out here, I have a list of 20-25 thers who are having the same problems. There are 166 units in this complex, I thought that was quite a number.

When I phoned Premier with this I was put down. They asked me who I thought I was and where did I get off representing these people.

I have a list of the names and have had most of them call in their complaints and have only found one person who they are sending someone to look at her carpet. These carpets are all upgrades too, not just what the builder puts in.

Rebuttal:

Carpet is just fabric you walk on.
Unfortunalty you are uglying out the carpet, not wearing it out. Ugly out is not a warranted item. Why is your carpet showing signs of traffic so soon? Because you purchased a soft carpet (fabric). You should have been informed of traffic hiding
carpets such as berber's.

Also keep in mind, builders are famous for buying the cheapest
floorcoverings made, you may have upgraded, but upgrading for low quality to medium quality is not enough.

This should have been explained to you by your salesperson. But to many times customer think the are beating the system, when the just end up with a poor performing carpet.

There is nothing you use more in your home than your floorcovering, nothing. Customers will spend twice as much on your kitchen cabinets, when they should be spending it on carpet.
