I contracted with PriceBreak!Shipping to move me from the US to Europe. I was initially told there would be a three day window for pick-up with a definate day as it drew closer to my actual contracted date. After I paid Price Break Shipping a deposit of $600 everything changed.

I was initially told there would be a three day window for pick-up with a definite day as it drew closer to my actual contracted date. After I paid Price Break Shipping a deposit of $600 everything changed.

Suddenly, that 3 day window became a 5 day window. Until the day before my scheduled my I was still being told "we'll know as it's closer to your move date. Well, it doesnt get any closer than the day before. I was finally asked okay, so when is the late day we can pick-up? A hell of a way to do business, but I gave them my absolute last day before I was getting on a plane move date. I was then told well be there that morning. Come the morning of that last day before I was getting on a plane to Europe, I get a phone call from some third-party mover saying we cant pick-up your stuff because the customer in Dallas doesnt want to pay Huh? Whats your customer in Dallas got to do with me? I asked. We cant unload the truck until we get paid and were not leaving to pick up your stuff without getting paid here first.

An argument ensued. I tried contacting Peter Malinovsky, the person I had made the contract with, and was shuffled from one person to another, never getting an answer. After being yelled at by Richard the logistics manager (whom I shall hereinafter affectionately refer to as d**k) and told if I wanted my money back, I needed to write a letter and then I might get back a percentage because I was canceling the order. I tried to negotiate with d**k and agreed to wait another day for pick-up. (Keep in mind, they never showed up on the contracted date.) Was told by Peter that the movers would definitely be there the following morning between 8 am and 10 am.

You got it, they again did not show up and this time d**k told me that he never said between 8 and 10 he said between 6 and 8 in the evening. Despite my reservations about this organization from Jump Street, I trusted these idiots. I needed to make this move as economically cost-efficient as I could and that is the only reason I agreed to use these frauds. The day before I was to relocate to Europe, I had to find another mover who would hopefully be honest and leave my neighbors to assist because I would not be there.

d**k and the rest of the gang at Price Break tried to suggest that I would not get all of my deposit back because I was canceling the pick-up. Them not showing up, not on one occasion, but on 3 separate occasions, made them in breach of contract, not me. Hence I am entitled to the entire refund. Im still waiting on the check.

This outfit is not honest. They say on the website they are available 24-7. I was NEVER able to get anyone except for a very small window of time and even then it was a crap shoot. It was suggested to me that what Price Break does is over-book, then when it comes down to choosing between jobs; they go with the one where they will make more money. This is was they did to me. They completely dumped me, left me high and dry then refused to refund my deposit. This is a scam outfit. They need to be stopped.

I even went so far as to ask Peter about their reputation (it wasnt the best) and his response was oh those postings are all done by our competitors and they just want to ruin business for us... Yeah, thats it, its a vast conspiracy to ruin the good name of PriceBreak!Shipping it couldnt possibly be because negative postings are from people like me whove been screwed by you!

I actually did my homework, I checked the BBB for any complaints against this company, I looked up their FMC #, and I of course, asked the losers who work there and I trusted these people. I got screwed. This outfit needs to be stopped and since no one else has filed a complaint with the BBB or FMC, I will. Because no one should have to go through what I went through. Moving is a stressful thing even in the best of circumstances. What happened to me is absolutely criminal and was totally unnecessary.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!

Nightmare Experience

AUTHOR: Oscaig - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Monday, August 18, 2008

I contracted PriceBreak Shipping last year to move me from the US to the UK. I have moved many times over the past 20 years and this was indeed the worst experience I had. There were so many problems and I spoke to 'd**k' also and received the same rude communication. To cut a long story short, I filed and informal complaint through the FMC and last week received an offer for $2000 that was supposed to cover all the damage etc (there was approx. $6000 worth of damage) and needless to say, I rejected that. I think the next step is a formal complaint.

There also was an issue with insurance. I was never informed that insurance was something extra and apparently I declined it when asked - they even have my signature on the mover's invoice - which is most certainly copied and pasted from where I signed for the packing (which, by the way, increased from $400 to over a $1000) so there is also now the issue of signature fraud.

I am waiting for a response from the attorney for PriceBreak to see what the reaction is after my refusal of the paltry sum of $2000. My son had a guitar that was worth $1000 alone that 'disappeared'.
