PRIME TIME GOURMET FOODS salesman JAMES YOUNG came to my door this week, I think it was on June 14th Tuesday. He and his partner came to my door and asked if I could help them out. They told me they were out on home delivery delivering to neighbors (Harpers and Schneiders)I never heard of those names. I said to James, I don't know any Harpers or Schneider, he said they were on the other side of the road and that they were supposed to buy meat from them. But no one showed up at their door so he had extra meat on his truck. He said he would have to pay a 60.00 restocking fee if he didn't sell it all by the end of the day.

I was suspicious and should have gone by my instincts. I actually called a couple people while they were here to see if they were legit. NO one could really tell me anything about them. I had seen the MIDWEST MEAT boxes before at a local meat seller so I thought it would be ok.

I called the PRIME TIME home office number at 336 632 0026 and asked the woman who answered the phone if James Young was in fact employed with PRIME TIME and she said yes. James offered me 60 variations of steak gourmet beef, peppercorn filet, filet, del monico, chopped sirloin, porterhouse, ny strip. The special was listed at $468.88 and he had a Pork special for $319.00 and various packages.

THe back of the brochure has a guarantee that the are 100% tenderness no freezer burn etc. Exchanges can be made on any product. James asked me to make an offer. I told him I had no idea what they were worth. He said he would take 200.00. It seemed reasonable. I thought it would be not a bad investment if even any of it was ok to eat. I said 175.00, he refused but I believe if I would have shut the door he would have gone down more. But I was stupid.

He told me I had 3 days to call to cancel. I called today which was the 3rd day. James said he would give me a refund but I am very suspicious and skeptical of this.I bet I wont see a dime.

First of all, the meat is terrible. It is edible but is hard to tolerate to eat. THe NY strip will take you awhile to eat, no flavor and its like chewing raw hide. We bought a bag of lobster that smelled so bad when we cooked it and to eat it was just so below what you would expect. It was terrible. We gave it to the dog. THe quality of this food is terrible. We ended giving the meal to our dog, she liked it. But if you have these people come to your door, send them away. You can get a better deal at the grocery store and it will taste good. Quality is awful on all the product line.

When James holds up the steaks he is very tricky, he puts 2 strips together where you can't see what he is doing. The steaks appear to be nice cuts. But they are not, doesn't matter, you won't eat them anyway.
James offered to put them in the freezer for me, and he started to do so. I believe that he does that so you don't get your hands on the steaks before you write him a check. Once you write a check it takes 24 hours to put a stop pay on it. All he has to do is go to the bank and cash it and you have nothing to get your money back with.

It's a scam. Yes they have a product. The entire package is a rip off. When he left I went over to unpack the meat and put it in the freezer. I immediately noticed that the steaks were very thin and upon closer look I knew I had been scammed. I immediately called my bank to put a STOP Pay on the check and then call PRIME TIME to come and get the meat. The bank then told me it takes 24 hours and that this guy would probably be at the bank and the check could be cashed before the stop pay would be effective. My cost is 30.00 to stop it. So I was scammed.

Now I am waiting for the REFUND and I will be surprised if I get it. But the scam is the product, it's not what it is represented to be "restaurant quality". No restr. would be in business selling this crap. PRIME TIME GOURMET FOODS IS A SCAM. WATCH OUT.
