I just returned to from a 12 day Mediterranean Princess Island Cruise that had the worst food I have every eaten
I had severe stomach aches and bloating after every meal I ate
I will be notifying the National Bboard of Health of the Princess Cruises' health food violations
I have been other cruises with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises) and have never experienced such fatty and spoiled food/ dinners that I had to suffer eating while on the Island Princess
I went on all the "off shore excursions" and when I came back in the evening I usually ate at the Horizon Court Buffet on the14th floor.
All the salads , cold cuts, cheeses. dressings and many of the entrees had been prepared and left sitting without refrigeration from 12 noon - 12 AM when this buffet closed
This is disgusting and unacceptable!
I did try eating in the main dinning room Bordeaux several times and every entree I tried eating was either very fatty, greasy or not fresh... I felt sick after eating any of your dinners
Most of the guests on this cruise felt the food was terrible
How can you feed guests on the Princess Cruise line food that was so low quality and gross?
I am not going to pay for an expensive cruise and not be able to eat acceptable dinners
The bread was hard as a rock... They did not even serve real orange juice!
Many evenings I would go back to my room and eat a few energy protein bars that I had brought with me
The food servers , many whom were foreign was often rude and inattentive
The gym was pathetic, with only 2 benches, and not a lot of exercise equipment. It was is a dark dimly lit small room
The other issue I have is the poor judgement of the Captain , let on board 118 Syrian Refugees trying to escape
The Princes Cruise line was en route to Istanbul when it got a distress call from a stranded sailing ship with supposedly
25 Great Nationals ( The Captain lied..it was 118 Refugees from Syria trying to escape)
The Greek Coast guard ship was closer to this sail boat then the Princess Island. but asked for the Princess to pick up these people
One of the Staff employees told me that I should stay in my room in case there was any "problems"
( I was very worried, so I sent texts to my family and friends notifying them of this stressful situation.
After 118 Syrian Refugees boarded the Island Princess , they began to push , shove and fight each other ( Most wore young men between 18-35) did not want to leave our ship
They wanted to stay onboard.
Finally the Greek Red Cross sent men over to "convince" these Syrian Refugees to leave the Island Princess Cruise boat
I have videos on my cell phone of these refugees yelling from the small dingy boats that were used to transport them off our boat
I am aware of Maritime Law ,, but in this day and age of "Isis threats and terrorism, it potentially jeopardized and risked the lives of thousands of passengers aboard the Island Princess!!
What if one of those Syrian Refugees had a bomb in his knapsack?
In addition, this picking of 118 Syrian Refugees created a situation where the Captain was not able to stop off at Istanbul the next port we were going to visit
99% of the people that booked this particular cruise voyage did so because it included visiting 'Istanbul'
I high recommend anyone thinking of taking a cruise to avoid the "Princess Cruise Line"
Buyer beware!
