SEO Reputation Management at its best!

I recently signed up for their 'adult' talent agency. Its not on the same site but the phone numbers are the same. They post their ads on persons websites like Backpage.com. I was able to talk to an individual who said, "There are a lot of adult jobs available in my area."

Seeing as I live in the middle of nowhere (North Dakota), I was immediately tipped off that their was a possible that this was a scam. He went on to say that in order for me to star working and have them represent me they needed me to pay $99 for a background check and $199 for registration in compliance with USC Code Section 2257.

Upon reading up on USC Code Section 2257, I called them back with some questions regarding the law, because it states that it is for "record keeping purposes for companies and/or individuals producing adult materials for sale." They had their account manager talk to me and he was very rude over the phone. I had simple, logical questions that he dismissed and refused to answer because and I quote, "You're not in the adult industry, so you don't know s**t about how things work."

He repeatedly told me I didn't know anything just because I read the law while refusing to answer my questions and became increasingly hostile until I finally hung up the phone.

And to top it off, the 'legit' website contains no useful information regarding the company.

Sour Grapes and Misinformation

AUTHOR: ProModel USA - (United States of America)

This is nonsense. Not only are the facts twisted, this person is NOT a client. Apparently, you don't have to actually be ripped off to vent here and complain using this forum! This provides a disservice to both the people filing genuine reports, as well as to users that want high quality data reporting when they query companies. We don't charge any "setup" fees. We don't take percentages of booking fees from models. Our models don't give us money up front or ongoing to work with them. This sets us apart from any Agency in the world. Since we are paid by the production companies that book our models, the relationship we offer anyone wanting a start in the Adult Industry is completely one sided.

We work very had to take people with no experience and showcase them as viable candidates for work in Adult Video productions across the US, on professional, semi-pro, and amateur shoots with safe companies that are licensed and survive a high degree of vetting to become one of our content affiliates. We scrutinize every company we work with thoroughly, to guarantee the safety of everyone involved in productions.

$99 Background check to make sure you don't touch kids or hit women or are a stalker. This isn't some "beverified.com" nonsense you get off TV. We use a Private Investigator. They aren't free. This isn't negotiable. If you're going to be dealing with naked pictures and you're a licensed business, your performers have to be 2257 compliant or everyone goes to jail - it doesn't matter if it's for sale or not, if it's for distribution [accessible to thousands of production companies' casting departments] you have to have model release, ID affidavits, and a number of other documents on file. This is also, NON-NEGOTIABLE.
In the complaint he made no mention of having to pass an STD Screen either.

This person - again, not a customer - was weeded out on the phone and asked not to contact us in the future about working with us in any capacity. The problem was this individual bullied the advisor he spoke with on the phone to the point where management was called on to deal with someone out of line on the phone.

We don't mind spending time on the phone with people that want to speak with us, however! This person has ZERO experience in the Adult Industry and a lot of time on his hands to google search curiosities, in turn using his tremendous new posture to criticize how we do business, our legitimacy, and how he thought things should operate at our address according to his access to the internet.

This is not a client of ours. This is someone who didn't think he should have to pay for his own background check because he was financially unable to, and is vomiting everywhere he can because we have told him we [and everyone we do business with in the United States of America] refuse to work with him because of his condescending, heated attitude.

The last thing we would EVER want to do is invite someone to work with us that brings any form of tension to the table since the subject matter we deal with is so incredibly sensitive to begin with. We must therefore be very specific about whom we work with. Not just in the sense that they are a good fit performance-wise in the business, but an easy person to work with. Since we are never paid by models to get them work - in the same city [as often as it's available] or in another city [we pay expenses] - we have to be certain the models we work with present themselves as professionals. That starts with when we speak to them, where we separate the wheat from the chaff.

I am the "very rude" manager referred to in the complaint. It's not illegal or immoral to be rude, and if I had been rude on the phone I'd be proud indeed to admit it. To address directly his lament, I offer the same logic to anyone else reading this. If all you know about the industry is what you can google, I'll verbally berate your ignorance and pride on the phone and refuse to work with you as well. We don't have to work with everyone. You can go kick some rocks. Kick rocks all afternoon in the parking lot. That's right.
