Febreze w/ Clenzaire pump spray.  Web site says safe for bedding. It is not. I sprayed some on my bed let it dry.  After Sleeping on bed I could not walk and my body was shaking. Frebreze attacks the nerves and kidneys.  (see internet reports) It is also dangerous to animals, esp cats.

This is a reply I received from P&G regarding the allegations of this OP concerning Febreze..

AUTHOR: Ken - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 13, 2012
Thanks for contacting Febreze.

We appreciate the time you took to write to us about this false rumor. Please be assured I'm sharing your report with the rest of the Febreze Team.

Febreze and its individual ingredients have been thoroughly evaluated with independent veterinarians and other scientists to ensure the human, pet, and environmental safety of Febreze. Scientists, doctors, safety experts, and veterinarians reviewed numerous scientific studies, and they all came to the same conclusion: Febreze is safe when used as directed.

The internet rumor is completely false and got started many years ago when emails were circulating from the Veterinary Emergency Center in Needham, Massachusetts. The doctor from that center contacted P&G and apologized for perpetuating the unfounded rumor. She sent out a retraction statement shortly afterward.

Also, it might help to know that the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), has investigated these rumors and issued the following statement:

"Based on a thorough review by veterinary toxicologists at The ASPCA National Animal Poison Control Center, together with other outside experts, The ASPCA considers Febreze safe in households with dogs and cats when used as directed."

You can also check out our ingredients online by visiting: http://www.pg.com/productsafety/

We hope this information gives you peace of mind and we invite you to share it with your contacts to help to this rumor.

Thanks again for getting in touch with us.

Put me on the list

We have been using these products for some time with no effects whatsoever.

Please, when you see this kind of crazy claims (the EMails all sound similar) do some research on the Urban Legend sites who have no ax to grind and are honestly trying to seek the truth.

All you accomplish by sending out unsubstatiated crap is to get people worked up over nothing and possibly damage a companies reputation for no reason.

Anyone can say anything on the Intenet so you have to be certain of the qualifications of whatever source you are reading.  I'd say there is a LOT more crap than reliable information.

USING the product! Josey or whatever your name is.  I use this product everywhere and I love it!  It gets smells out of things especially the cat boxes.  So JOSEY crawl back into your hole - there are not enough troops to take on Ken, Robert, Voice, Ashley, Tan and all of the club!

If anything did happen...

If Febreeze actually gave you issues after sleeping in a bed you sprayed with it its more likely that you have an allergy to some compound in the product.  I personally have never had an issue after using febreeze in the car, on a bed, in a sleeping bag, ect.

I went to the "internet" and along with all the urban legends and far out, unproven claims, Here's a link to facts, on Snopes, disputing all the crap posted on the "internet."
 http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/febreze.asp

Isn't the "internet" wonderful, anyone can post whatever drivel they read about or imagine happened to them and mislead as many people as possible.

" After Sleeping on bed I could not walk and my body was shaking. Frebreze attacks the nerves and kidneys."

IF this is true and you can prove it, sue them for your nerve and kidney damage...let us know how that works out for you.
