Progressive Readers Organization, LLC Seller's Name: C. Patrick Ripping off a mother with 3 Children???? That is soooo low! Harold, Kentucky

A woman came knocking at my door on August 27, 2011, saying that she was affiliated with Progressive Readers Organization. She spoke of how she was trying to make money for herself and was selling popular magazines for adults and children. She then said that depending on the magazines that we ordered, she received points and she didn't make any money unless the point value was at or over 15 points. I have three children and I thought, wow, this will not only benefit my children but I will also help someone in the process. She made small talk with my husband and myself about people in the area, making sure to tell me that my neighbors ordered some of the magazines as well.

So, then I told her that I was interested in purchasing the Humpty Dumpty magazines with six issues and Family Fun with twenty issues. When she added the total, I was glad that the point total was 15 for her, but the price for me was $97.00. However, I thought that this is hard times for everyone and trying to be understanding, I agreed and wrote her a check. Making sure to inform me that just in case there was a problem with delivery or I didn't receive the books right away, she made sure to point out the phone number.

I waited one two months and called the number, only to receive an answering machine. I then proceeded to wait for a return phone call, never received one. Trying to deny the fact that I was ripped off, I called again several times and still received only an answering service. I think it is terrible that people think it is okay to deceive people this way, when I was just trying to help out someone who is only deceitful and inconsiderate!
