We, too, are angry and feel ripped off by Promotion Travel Specialists. We joined Great Escapes so don't think that not joining is why we are having trouble. we feel justified in expecting our money back for the trip to Florida we could never take.

We kept submitting dates and being rejected for one reason or another. The last effort was to take it on January 11th so it would meet the criteria of being 10 days after a holiday. That was rejected saying it was not 10 days after a holiday. The last time I substracted 1 from 11 it was 10.

We have made multiple phone calls after notifying in writing to request our deposit back but have not received our check.

Great Escapes has tried to help but has not been able to. We have been happy with our membership in Great Escapes.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Happy to be gone...

AUTHOR: Karen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 24, 2007

I'm an ex-employee of Great Escapes & can gladly say I am happy to be gone. The reason I say this is because I heard this same story all day every day! Believe that hardly anyone gets to actually take their trip, & please don't be fooled into letting Great Escapes off so easily. I mean after all, since we're hearing this 24/7, could they not perhaps give a promotional gift worth a little more? Could they not buck the Promo Company & say that if their customers weren't going to be treated properly then they would just find a new Promo to offer? No...this wouldn't work because this is a two-way scam in full effect.

The reason is that the two companies are in bed together. Many CEO's, Presidents, & even part owners are such for both companies. Why? So that folks will continue to get confused over who really is the bad guy & who is at fault. This way not all of the consumers will be shouting the same name to the rip-off reports & BBB's.
Both companies are equally sleazy & shady - so do yourself a favor - when they call you for an appointment time, simply tell them "Put my name & phone number on your Do Not Call List immediately." (You must actually use the correct verbage or they will get around that too so be careful) Then schedule that time to be home with your family or friends - it will be time much better (& cheaper) spent in the long run!
