alec peters aka propworks held an auction of battlestar galactica props in January 2009 , avg price 2500.00 per item. not until after the fact did we learn he added non original items to costumes to "complete them" and increase selling price ( full original costumes generate a lot more money)
Peters then said after checking he found Collectible Shipping service (CSS) and they were the cheapest.CCSS wanted 10 % to package and ship. Ths is excessive. When compliants arose CSS claimed they "forgot their deal with propworx' and quoted another rate.A registry search showed that CSS IS alec peters! after that was announced he changed it to private registry causing further damage and question
.
Peters charged sales tax to out of state buyers. This was improper and according to state of california not reported.
Peters bid through proxy at auction. This conflict of interest allowed him to potentially artificially raise prices (shill bid) as a forum exists (that peters controls and deletes negative or auction inquirires) where members post what they will spend.
Items took weeks to ship and some have not received their items
