I was a customer for 3 years. I had always paid my payment on time or early and it was always the minimum or better. Account was upgraded to Gold status last week.

Received new card 2 weeks ago. I had not even had time to activate it. Today I receive a letter stating that they are cancelling my account effective 9-6. States that I have deliquent accounts within the last 6 months. States received information from Equifax.

I have bought a house in the last 6 months, and 2 new cars in the last 2 months. If my accounts were "deliquent" would this have been possible? I think not.

Providian is a major sleeze ball in the credit card company. They are nothing more than high tech loan sharks. Warn ALL your friends and neighbors to RUN as fast as they can the other way if providian comes knocking on their doors.

Believe me, BBB will hear from me on this. And my lawyer too!!!
