PROVIDIAN VISA, is a credit card company that constantly checks peoples credit and then sends un-asked for credit card applications that say PRE-APPROVED. I suspect many people in a bind fall for the zero percent intro intrest rate and get the card, then find the rate 23.99!

I have gotten about 50 or more of these offers and I tear them up, never just throw them away unopened because there is too much personal information in them! I called the company and asked to speak with a supervisor. I told them I wanted to be REMOVED from their mailing list. It's now over a month later and I still get their crap offers in the mail. How can I get them to stop?

how to stop it fast

i work in applications and can tell you how to stop these from coming from any company. credit card companies have "rollouts" and they go out to the same people for 4-6 weeks at a time. if we havent gotten a response we send another. it is stupid but that is what companies do. i just key them in but i know they aspects of how it works. there is a average wait of 4 weeks to totally remove a name and or address from all company systems. it is a hassle but give it that.when you request on the phone to have your name taken off ask for a letter to be mailed to you as confirmation. it is the law that they have to do it if requested. also- send back at least one application that states in bold letters across it do not promote or take me off all lists. make sure you do not mark thru the numbers on the bottom or we will not be able to get to your info to stop the mailings. if you search the net there is a site somewhere that you can write to that gets your name off all mailing lists. if you are worried about your credit-reports are not run on socials-only verifying name and address. you can however place a password on your credit reports for no charge so you will get called if there is an inquiry on your report that will affect your rating. it is a good move. saves you from fraud.good luck. i hate this company but i need a paycheck too!

they can then be charged with harrassment

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report:

Their email: rlavoie@interbaun.com
Their name: vicky

Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion

Rebuttal:
Call the company back and ask for the manager again, when you get him/her on the phone ask if they have a red list. If they do tell them to put you on it. Here in Canada if you have asked to be put on a red list they can't refuse and if they continue to contact you they can then be charged with harrassment. Just my 2 cents hope it helps.
