Publishaamerica/ Starbooksamerica.com Will not pay me royalty payments since I published my first book with then in 2009. Told me no sales were made on any of my five books and state my contracts was terminated and expired. Also told me I had to pay for new copies of my contracts. They will not provide me any information on my book sales such as emailing me my sale history from their company and other distributers. They are also selling my book new, used and rated for extravagant amounts online. Frederick Maryland

I published with Publishamerica in 2009, my first book which was poetry. The title Rapoetry is now being used for other books. I have not recieved any royalties since that year up until now. I have five books with that company. They changed their business name and website. When I emailed the support department and asked about my royalties someone emailed me by the name of Jackie and told me that all my contarcts were terminated because they had expired. She said that my books were not selling and made no sales and that they were no longer posting my books. But when i google the titles i see that my books are still being sold on major distributers website for huge amounts of money.

Publishamerica which is now starbooksamerica charges me to order my own books. Because of the amounts I have been unable to purchase any books.They published a memoir for me, an inspirational book about my life. I am upset because that book was written to inspire and encourage people and I cannot track who brought it nor the sales from it. My books are translated into different languages selling in the United Kingdom, France and Germany and in other Countries and States.

However the book Rapoetry is used to support the African Eduction Fund for Africans to goto school, the publishers also offers a 5% commision for blogers to sell my book on their websites. My books can also be returned or resold back to certain distributers. I have not been emailed any current or preexisting royalty statements since 2010. There are many lawsuits filed against them, I feel like they make false promises and tell lies. They make their authors pay them for publicity by offering to give their books to important or famous people and assiting with booksignings. They said their traditional but only pay a $1.00 advancemnt on royalties. They sell dreams to anxious writers who want to become authors.

Many people who publish with them did not have to pay and then they give us a 7 year contarct which we barely understand and overlook by signing it to get published because we belive that after they sell 200,000 copies we will be paid a percentage. I have so much trauma from this experience. I feel hurt, embarrassed and betrayed because I trusted them with my writing. They charge for everything, to illustrate children books, to edit your books, to redesign book covers and to add extra pages or addendums. They even charge us to breach our contracts early.

They are no longer with the BBB and they supposely handle their own complaints. I feel all authors should sue and be awarded their money. If they are not selling any books than how are they being paid to print them on demand? I want answers to why are they still in business after scamming so many people. I wrote my books while in church the people their tried to help me they warned me and said it was an authors scam.

I pray a lawyer helps me. I am a poor woman with chldren who look up to me I feel like they ripped me off of my life and sucessfulness by robbing me of my rights and money. As a business they failed to withold their legal obligations and responsibility to professionally provide services to the society of writers and pay them for their hard work. We wrote these books making them rich and famous and we deserve our share of the rewards. Eventually they will get what they deserve, scamming is against the law this is fraud and propdaganda.

High class robbery and I hope someone is held accountable for the pain and dispair they have caused me and other people. This company is located in another state and it is sad the only way to contact them is by email because they barely answer calls or return them, and when they do they give inaccurate and incomplete information and the authors get nowhere and nothing gets resolved. I should of read their reviews that stated author beware. Many authors write to recieve finances, it is a job for us, we expect to be paid, I am a writer who probably could of been financially stable from my published books.

Unfortanely for all my time and effort I get nothing back but my books online that I must buy and resell if I have money to order them and pay also for shipping fees. Publishamerica use to have offer discounts what little help that gave but as for starbooksamerica I know nothing too much about them. This will not be over for me. It took me awhile to even report them because I didn't know how, and I just waited to see if they would send me a check or email about my royalties which they never did! They are lazy and unrealistic, protraying to be old fashioned and accredited, but truth be told they are skimmers!!
