Publishers National Associated Service ripoff business Buffalo New York

i was first contacted by publishers national in june of 200 at my place of employment. i will be the frist to admit that when it comes to telemarketers i am not good at saying no. the representative told me they were offering subscription for any magazine you like for two years for 400 and some odd dollars. the subscription would last two years. i said no the first two times but after the rep wouldn't get off my line i caved in and agreed to subscribe. i sent them a check for 29.00 the required fee for starting and acount.

Unfortunately a week later my room mate bailed leavig me with a crap load of bills. the check was returned to publishers national. during this period of time i never recieved one magazine so i didn't think it would be a problem canceling the account.Wrong!!!!! when i was contacted i told the rep that i was truly sorry about the returned check and would happily reimburse the company the NSF fee but not the full amount of the check since i had not recieved any merchandise. the rep became hostle and told me that if i wanted to cancel the account i would have to send them 60.00. i asked her for what i didn't get any books.

for the next two weeks it was hell the reps would call me on my job hang up in my face, leave harassing phone messages on my voice mail. it has now been been 2yrs and they are still harassing me. they now have a company called cred ex sending threatening letters saying i owe 700.00 . i contacted this company and a rep called me back i explained to the gentlemen the circustances that led to the check being returned and that i would pay for the NSF fee but not anything more. He told me that publishers national pre ordered the magazines at a cost of seven hundred dollars. and that they planned to recoup the money through my subscription.

i told him that what he had just said made no sense because they had said they would only charge me 400 and something odd dollars and that it seemed as if they would be taking a loss if what he were saying were true. the gentle man went own to try and get me to agree to a settlement of 200.00. i was like settle for what i didn't recieve any magazines. i take full responsibility for the returned check but i will not be bullied into a subscription i don't want this magazine company has given me nothing but grief. they've even signed me up for other subscriptions without my permission such as pc world . i dont even own a pc.

bottom line if you are solicited by this compny stay far away. hang up on them. i know there are others who are suffering with this company and its harassment because the guy at credex said so. i have done all i can and i am exhausted. if anyone has any information that can help me. please contact me through this report.
