In your post, you gave a"quick" summary to the exact abuse that ALOT of folks have been dealt at the hand of Qi-Tel, AON, & the Phone Company/Service Providers.

You said to contact you through the 'Rebuttal Box' in order for us to possibly be able to do something about these fraudulant Co.'s - So I am attempting to do that, though reading the "rules" for using the Rebuttal Box did not seem to 'cover' this kind of response.

I, too, am very interested in trying to get a "strength in numbers" campaign going, and make known the illegalities of these Companies, and finally making someone -- whether it be Qi-tel, AON, or the Phone Company/Service Providers, or all of them to be held accountable for this "fake service" that is #1 Not INITIATED by any of it's "victims. A TELEMARKETER intrudes into your home via the telephone and "offers a free pager and voice mail service for 30 days, stating that you will recieve with your pager a letter for you to sign and return within the 30 days IF YOU WISH TO CONTINUE THE SERVICE"...Then if you do send back in the confirmation letter for the voice mail service, it will be charged to your local phone service provider and appear as a charge of 19.95 + tax ($20.55)each month...#2- after EXPLAINING the above, they ask you to "verify" with their 'supervisor' that "you understand what was just explained to you"(above) and "AGREE to have the pager sent to you and the voice mail service started" & that your call "may be recorded to assure 'quality service'"---#3 - So when the 'superisor' comes on the line the 'Supervisor' asks "did you understand the terms that were just explained to you?" & I answered, "Yes", then he asks, "So, you understand the agreement, and want the Free pager and voicemail service?" & again I answered "yes". THIS IS THE ONLY PART OF THE PHONE CALL THAT IS "RECORDED". #4--NO PAGER or ANY other corespondence is EVER recieved from Qi-Tel or AON -EXCEPT for a CHARGE of $56.55 & $20.55 on the next Phone Bill you recieve after that PHONE CALL, then every month thereafter a CHARGE of $20.55 is charged to your phone bill. #5-When you try to contact Qi-Tel through the # listed on your Phone Bill, it is a recording, stating their 'Business Hours' & to call back during Regular Business Hours---I called back every single hour and 1/2 hour during 3 24 hour periods, and still got the same recording. So my next step was to try and go through AON, #6 - Dealing with AON...From June til August, I tried "working with" AON, I was told that the recording they had "verified" that I had 'agreed' to the terms & the service - therefore I WAS responsible for the charges & HAD to pay them.This went on DAILY from the middle of JUNE til Mid August, when I finally called BELLSOUTH, they 1st reversed the charges for me, & I promptly recieved a letter back from Bellsouth, stating that when they had reversed the charges, they had recieved the information & recording of me "verifying" the afore mentioned 'agreement' and placed the charges BACK on my phone bill. Through various phone calls to AON (which resulted on being hung up on after very RUDE "so-called 'customer-service') & Bellsouth, who basically said there was nothing they could do since AON had a recording of me agreeing to the service. Finally by the Grace of God, I got a Bellsouth Representive that finally informed me of having a "No Third Party Billing" placed on my account(it's free) - so even though she could not do anything about the previous charges, I would not recieve any more charges from them through Bellsouth. So, On & On went the "dealings" (hang-ups) with AON, til today---I called AON-again at this number: 800-892-8424, and my 1st phone call was answered by "Steve" - After explaining EVERYTHING ABOVE -- AGAIN! - He says they have a recording of me agreeing to the service, therefore I am liable for the charges & have to pay them...at which point I BOILED!--I asked him--Could he not Hear--or was he just choosing not to listen to what I said, I asked him did he NOT hear me explain HOW the very 1st phone call was handled, with the part that was"explained to me"(above) by the Telemarketer That CALLED ME was NOT RECORDED--the only part recorded, me answering 2 questions with "yes", that was asked by a second person, the 'supervisor' was the only part recorded, he again stated that I was liable for the charges, when I tried once again to find out if he was deaf or just stupid, he hung up on me. Yes, I was angry (who wouldn't be) and had passed the point of trying to be nice, when I was hung up on then, but it wouldn't have mattered, I had made 200+ other CIVIL phone calls & had been hung up on also. So after he hung up on me--I called the number (800-892-8424) right back - and got "Lucy' operator #528, FINALLY A HUMAN BEING!!! - She did not get ugly, she listened, asked for information in regards to the exact date that I was billed the 1st month and the exact date each month thereafter, I did not have that information, so she said for me to call my Service Provider(Bellsouth) and get the information, so I asked her to hold, & I did the 3-way calling & got Bellsouth on the line, after going through all the "Menus" I got a recrding that my "estimated wait time" was going to be 8 minutes, Lucy said she could not hold that long, but for me to call her back as soon as I got Bellsouth on the line, to tell whichever operator that answered to transfer me to her, so I did -- yes the Phone call between the 3 of us wound up being kind of tedious, with Lucy having to go through each month, asking KATIE(EXCELLANT SERVICE!) at bellsouth to go through each month to find the Exact date that AON charged the accout, then she would have to find it in her records---but FINALLY after getting each date, each charge verified between the two of them, Lucy says, "OK a CREDIT of $179.60 should be on your bill within 30-60 days - this account is closed & no other charges will be billed" PRAISE THE LORD!!! Katie (Bellsouth) asked could she record her verifying that information (turn-about-is-fair play), she agreed, restated the above, Katie posted it on my account, put a hold of some sort on the late charges on my phone bill that I had refused to pay since August (81.78) and said it would not hurt my credit with the phone company...Everybody said "thank you & have a nice day" --- "And we lived happily ever-after" :-) (we'll see)

Even though I have finally possibly gotten some results & resolution to my ATTACK from Qi-Tel & AON (on Qi-Tel's behalf) - It doesn't make it OK that these THIEVES are STILL pulling this SCAM EVERYDAY! On Countless Numbers of Victims & they have got to be stopped!

William, Though your post was quite short, and did not state any specifics, you asks for anybody that wanted to do something to stop these guy's to respond - thus, I have done so--& hope I have provided some info for folks to be able to get some immediate help for themselves. And if they do use the info provided above, and get help I hope that they will all consider getting involved in some way to help shut these scumbuckets down- for good!--We owe it to each other, innocent folks, that just happened to answer the phone in our own homes & basically got robbed, just cause we are decent Humen Beings to not let anybody else have to suffer at the hands of these criminals.
