In April of 201/ I purchased 1400$ worth of furniture from rooms to go. I put down around 200$ and financed the rest through rac, I have made my payments of 160$ monthly on time. Being that I'm almost paid up I called to find out how much I had left and I was told that I had 1110$ out if 1400$ still remaining due to lease fees, I was never explained this. Basically since I purchased my furniture I've been paying 40$ to the principal monthly and the other 120$ has to to fees. How this has happened I'm baffled! All the customer service I get is" you signed the contract" but no one in their right mind would do this. I can't believed I was conned so badly and no one will fix the situation to do the right thing. I will never do business with either company again. If anyone out there has any information that would help me, I'd greatly appreciate it!

And The Answer Is...

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, December 15, 2012

What are these fees for?  What is your interest rate?  How long is the loan for?  Are these "lease fees" or interest?

You wrote this report, right?  You have a command of the English language, correct?  All the answers to the above questions are contasined in the contract.  Did you READ the contract BEFORE you obligated yourself to the terms and conditions of that contract?

I think we all know that answer!

Rooms To Go

I apologize if there was any confusion while working with Rent A Center on your financing.  If you feel that there were any errors made in regards to the account, there is a Rent A Center representative at the location that you made the purchase at that would be able to take a better look into this for you.

So, did you sign the contract, and....

were you in your right mind?

What DOES the WRITTEN contract say?

"I can't believed I was conned so badly and no one will fix the situation to do the right thing."

What would be the "right thing" if you did sign the contract and it DOES state what they told you?

" I was never explained this."

That's what WRITTEN contracts are for, they show plainly what you and the company agreed to when it's signed. Oral contracts are usually worthless.
