I ordered a Nascar die-cast from Race Depot (www.race-depot.com) on 9/10/07. Over 10 months ago. The product on their website showed "available". They promptly charged my Mastercard $79.00. Over the next several months they would briefly answer my emails with a terse "it's on back order, we will ship you one when we get more."
After several more emails a different person did offer me a different comparable product. I accepted that. They said those were on back order too and would ship on when they got more. That was the last email I received from them, 6/12/08, 2 months ago.
Since they they have not answered 5 of my emails asking for their phone number and asking for a refund. They have totally stopped answering my emails, which were always polite, never rude. They have totally ripped me off $79.00. Because I believed them so long that they would send me the item, my Mastercard company won't help me because they only research cases less than 2 months old.
I am filing complaints with the Virginia Better Business Bureau and Virginia Attorney General Consumer Complaint Divison. I doubt this company will ever deliver me the product I ordered or refund my $79.00. This has been going on since 9/10/07. Trust me, save yourself a lot of hassle and money do not use this company! They have stolen $79.00 from me.

Take an order, charge card immediately, then use the 'backorder' excuse long enough to get past the chargeback/dispute period. Then the consumer is out of luck. The Virgina Atty General should be made aware of this by all that have been affected.
