My sister-in-law needed to buy a car for her daughter in high school. Recently divorced and a mother of three she needed to make a good buy. This would be her first time buying a car by herself.

She needed to go to a dealer she could trust because understanding english is a problem. She saw an ad by Raceway Ford stating that they could be trusted. She is not from this country so her english is limited.

She found a car she liked and made an offer for 10,000.00 and they agreed. They went inside to write it up. She signed and initialed where they told her to. Unfortunately she didn't read the contract carefully, she trusted them to do the right thing by explaining everything. No way did she understand the contract, because, when she got home and relatives reviewed the contract, it was not the deal she thought she had made.

According the contract she bought the car for.... cash price vehicle 14,495.00. instead of $10,000 .. it's $4,990 more than agreed, including the extra charge for accessories for a used car? $495.00

14,990.00 is the total she is now paying before interest! We have know idea what "accessories" they are talking about. I thought when you bought a used car everything came with it. They charged her another 1,995.00 for a service contract, that she didn't know she bought. She didn't need it or want it.

By far the biggest rip-off was the interest rate they charged her 17.5%. She has good credit they even told her so and stated her interest rate would be around 8.5%. She gave 4,000.00 down and when she is done paying for a used car with over 68,000 miles on it she will have paid $26,676.20. What a Rip-off!

So much for trusting people. If there is a way to change this contract we would like to change the interest rate, get rid of the service contract, and eliminate the 495.00 for "accessories" She bought the car on 8/25/01.

From the very first day the car has been having problems. She called and they said wait a week to see if anything else is wrong and then you can bring the car in. No one will come to the phone to answer her questions, giving her a time to drop off the car to be fixed as promised. According to her mechanic it needs a major tune-up, brakes, and an alignment.

When she bought the car they specifically told her the car was thoroughly checked over mentioning the brakes and the car was in good tune. Both are another lie. #6572 ..6706

Well well well, I see they are still at it. I was looking for something else on the net in Riverside CA and I see here are my old buds still ripping people off. Boy have I got a long story I could tell, but I don't have much time right now except to stay clear of these guys. Nothing but a bunch of thugs. How do I know all this? Well I worked there long enough to see and know who and what they are. No, I'm not a disgruntled employee. I
left on good terms.

Even those who work there now in sales and service know it, but that's their livelihood so I can forgive them. Those who will not go along with screwing their customers will not last in the service department or as a salesman.. I have moved on now like many others. I'm sure not all of them have left Raceway for the same reason.

NO, I will not give my name. These are thugs we are dealing with. And I don't use the term loosely.

You guys have a great site here. Very impressed with the amounts of money you're saving people. I'm sure many people say, how can we believe all this. I believe it. Especially when you start seeing repeated stories on these companies. Keep up the good work and thank America for Freedom of Speech.

I am and employee of Raceway Ford for sometime now. I can understand why the owner and management are so upset at the reports on them and are wanting to sue you. Yes there have been some complaints that I am aware of and they are usually worked out. We are not perfect. All the sales and finance people here work hard to earn your business. We go the extra mile.

I know the sales manager fixed the mistakes on this particular deal that was reported and completely satisfied the Spanish lady. I know she understood English more than she revealed.

We have a wonderful selection of trucks and cars, we are good hard working, honest people and are willing to help anyone in anyway we can.

I want you to know that a customer came in because of this article they found on the Internet. We sold them a car. They thought the article was so ridiculous, it's actually helping us. Personally I believe in your website but it definitely has a few flaws. Like us nothing is perfect. I don't agree with our people making phony postings on your web site either. I had nothing to do with that and I'm not sure who did. I have my suspicions.

Thank you for the advertisement. I believe customers are smart enough to know an over stated BS story when they see it. We made a mistake and we fixed it.

You people at the Rip-off Report are so full of crap! Get a grip. Get a life! Raceway Ford is now a Blue Oval Dealer, I called and checked it out too. The only reason they were not a blue oval dealer, there was a misunderstanding between the dealer and ford. My family has been dealing with them for many years and all our vehicles were brought there. They

never screwed us once and we have always had the best service. The people who filed this complaint is probably looking for a lawsuit. IT's people like you that make this country bad. They are the most honest dealer and I have boughtmany cars in my time. I dnot believe there is one ounce of truth to this story.

Get a life people!

Raceway Ford is now Blue Oval Certified

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 15, 2001

It was just bought to our attention that Raceway Ford is NOW a Blue Oval Dealer. This is an alleged certification by Ford Motor Company.

When badbusinessbureau.com first investigated this, there was no Blue Oval Certification.

Here is the meaning that Ford gives for Blue Oval Certified. The following is off their web site:

What is Blue Oval Certified?

Blue Oval Certification is bestowed upon a dealership as recognition from Ford Motor Company for the high level of customer satisfaction achieved with every purchase, lease and service experience. A dealer must pass a certification process to be awarded this recognition. The Blue Oval Certified thumbprint is a symbol of personal commitment to customer satisfaction. The thumbprint represents the commitment of every employee to provide their own unique brand of personal service to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Let me get this straight:

the badbusinessbureau got this contract cancelled and now you want another contract at your new terms? I don't know how in hell the badbusinessbureau accomplished this, but it's a virtual miracle!

I have never heard of a car dealer releasing someone from a signed sales contract.

It sounds to me as if your sister-in-law and you are now being as

unreasonable (or maybe even more so) than the dealer you're complaining about. Geez! After the BadBusinessBureau cut you loose? Go badbusiness bureau!

My Demands!

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, September 20, 2001

Update Submitted: 9/8/01

Modified: 9/10/01

Since this Rip-off Report was filed, a consumer advocate from badbusinessbureau.com called and spoke to AJ from finance. AJ then called back and was willing to rip up the contract, unwinding the entire deal and refund the $4,000 payment.

If we unwind the deal, it will be even harder for my sister-in-law to get financing at a reasonable rate.

My sister-in-law demands that:

The current contract be voided and replaced with a contract with no bogus charges like extras and an overpriced, not authorized service contract.

Car price as originally agreed to ... $10,000

Financing rate to be charged 8.5% and no higher than 9%

It will cost around $300 to $400 to get the car properly tuned, oil changed, and the brakes fixed. I will take it to a shop of my choice and they will pay for it.

badbusinessbureau.com AKA Rip-off Report stated to me the following, that the stress and aggravation they have put my sister-in-law through is not fair. She should be compensated. Their selling tactics of deceit should be a crime and Raceway Ford should be punished. It's wrong to get a customers confidence, sit them down and say, OK, sign here, sign her, here and here. These car salespeople are professionals at ripping off the consumer, by relaxing them, getting their trust, consumers never suspecting they are being screwed.

What's even more outrageous, they knew she did not understand English that well. They had no one available to interpret, but the sales man assured her he was helping her.

Again, she never bought a car before and is a very trusting person.Consumer rape is what the badbusinessbureau.com calls it.
