My mother in law had a home demo done because they told her that she won a free "rainmaker" at a home show. She had no problem having them come show her their product. They had asked her to give them a list of 10 names that they think would do a home demo. Well, that's where I come into play. I had no problem having the young man come to my house and show my husband and I the product.

While he was here, I told him that he would have to make it quick becuase my friends son had just passed away and I had to go to a dinner. 2 hours later, he tried to con us into buying the product. Yes, the product did clean good, but the price was kinda high. We had purchased a Kirby 5 years ago and then a Kirby was susposed to be the best. He had talked us into purchasing the product by doing monthy payments. sure $60.00 a month really was not all that bad. but we had paid $1300.00 for our Kirby and he wanted our Kirby and was only going to give us $300.00 for it!

Anyways, we went for it and thought, well, if this cleans better then we should get it becuase my daughters have really bad allergies and suffer from constant nose bleeds and are on meds daily to help with the allergies. After giving the young man a list of friends and family members, he went through the list asking if they had good jobs, around how much they make a year and if they have money problems. like that's any of my business!! I felt that it was kind of rude and that he should of never of asked me those questions.

After having the Rainbow for about a week and a half, the young man had called to tell us that we were unable to get financed for the Rainbow. So, I thought, fine, come pick it up and bring me back my Kirby. Well, we had to go out of town for a few days due to a sick family member and then they had called my mother in law and had told her the whole situation. how he tried to call and couldn't get ahold of us and then proceeded to tell her about our financial problem we were going through and told her why we were unable to get financed.

First of all, what kind of people are they to just go and spread personal information about you to other people. It is no ones business about our financial problems. If you have any kind of money situation, please do not let them in your home. They invade your privacy, rip you off and are very pushy!! Besides why pay over $2000.00 for a vacuum that they say dont loose suction when you can go to Wal-Mart and purchase the Dyson that never looses suction for a little over $300.00. Makes sense, dont ya think??

Rainbow vs dyson?

AUTHOR: Dave Foster - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 31, 2014

the part of this that is a scam is that you compare the Rainbow to a Dyson!! Obviously you don't get the technology as the rainbow does not need suction...suction does not clean! think about it.

If you had a crappy sales guy then that sucks, but don't bash the product cause it works

Ive vey had rainbows my whole life and would never turn on a disgusting vacuum cleaner in my home ever again. God just think about what your doing, blowing all that crap and germs into your air, that's why it stinks!

New dysons are nearly $1000 now and Kirby, Tristar, etc cost more then the rainbow.. And what do you get? A dirty dusty vacuum cleaner that blows crap into your air.

Im sick of people who go on these sites and b***h about a product they know nothing about. Bottom line is the rainbow is worth every penny and lasts a lifetime, Dyson makes like 15 different models that you can currently buy today- check it out on their website, but there is only 1 rainbow. If dysons dry filter cyclone garbage technology actually worked...... Why would they sell 20 different types??

wake up people.

No problems for myself or friends

AUTHOR: olytitan80 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, August 30, 2012

I have had two demos. One about 15 years ago. My neighbor had just started working for them. She never asked us about income because we couldn't buy.

We live in a new area and recently had a neighbor ask if we would watch a demo to help her get her Rainbow for free. We watched the demo and love the upgrades to the newest model but we can't buy right now. We were never asked for income or for a list of more names. Our neighbor however is setting up appointments with more of her friends, but she gives the names to her dealer only when they agree to the demo. No financial info is given unless you try to finance.

I suppose the demo guy in your instance probably had many people that couldn't finance and didn't want to do demos if there was no way they could buy if they wanted to. I think he was terrible for asking all that stuff ahead and going about the way he did. That's not the way it should work.

Our neighbor had earned her free shampoo portion already. If one more person bought one hers would be free, or if she had shown it to a certain number of people, even if they didn't buy it would be free. My neighbor is in control of all of that. She logs in to her account and gives info of the sales of her friends and she goes to the demo with the person when they do it. She had no problems and no crazy personality or asking for information they shouldn't have. We didn't give any kind of information ourselves at all for ourselves, or anyone else. Never asked to. Your dealer was a dud.

I would have complained directly to the manufacture to tell them about your poor experience.

Give me a break

Yes they should not have done that to you but what does that have to do with the quality of the product?  Why is this on a ripoff report?  Did they lie about their product?  No, they didnt.  You bought it so you must have been impressed with it, regardless of whether you had a 1300 kirby or not.  I think your anger towards the company for disclosure is the real reason for the post.  Then you comment about the dyson that was a little over 300.00.  Why didnt you just buy that before the Kirby?  Your finances are not the only thing that are misguided.  I love my rainbow and got it after my sister had her for over 20 years.  It was a wedding gift to her and her husband.  She is 38 years old now and it is still working like new.  Can you say that about a kirby?  NO.  How about a Dyson?? NO.  I recently purchased a Rainbow because of my husbands allergies.  We let it run to "clean" the air about 3 x's a week in addition to my normal cleaning etc... He has cut down his meds by 1/2 since we got the Rainbow and the dust had been cut down by at least 75%.  We had new carpets just put in through out the whole house about 3 months before we had our demo for the Rainbow.  The women who came to our house pulled a fair share of dirt out of them.  I couldnt believe how much dirt was left behind by MY KIRBY.  I gladly gave it in for the 300.00.  She even ran the kirby 50 times over an area and just did one sweep w/the rainbow and it was incredable that she got dirt up with ONE sweep where my Kirby had gone over the spot 50 TIMES.  Keep your Kirby, actually, sell it and go and buy a Dyson.  I will be a Rainbow customer for the rest of my life!!

Personal Information Violation

AUTHOR: Juan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 25, 2007

You can sue the company for disclosing your personal information. They have absolutely NO AUTHORITY whatsoever to disclose your personal information. That is a violation of FEDERAL law now. You need to go over their heads though... Rainbow Distributors usually don't have alot of money, so contact their supplier, Rexair Inc. worldwide Headquarters in Troy Michigan. 1-248-643-7222.

Rexair will tell you that they are not responsible for the actions of their Distributors, but they are. They have SOME liability for the actions of their Distributors because they make them sign a contract to do business with them. The contract makes them agree to conduct business according to the suggested methods of Rexair.

Hang in there, and don't let them brush you off... you have a very strong case here. You could cause them a LOT of grief for this violation. You may get a free Rainbow out of this, at the least. Good Luck.
