Case #L05-3-1053

This rip-off has been going on since at least 1999 and the Florida State Attorney General's Office has yet to act on it?! I suggest you call their division which is "handling" this case. It is the Attorney General's Economic Crimes Unit, and it is Case #L05-3-1053. See this URL:

Point out to the Florida State Attorney's Office that nothing has been done about this and they are allowing thousands of new victims continuously. Their direct number for the Economic Crimes Unit is Voice: 850-414-3600, Fax: 850-488-4483. Their mailing address is:

Economic Crimes Division
Office of the Attorney General
The Capitol
Tallahassee, FL 32399-1050

Their physical location is:
Collins Building
Fifth Floor
107 West Gaines Street
Tallahassee, FL

Thanks to the people here, I googled before I called that tempting toll-free number that Ramada Plaza Resorts provided, and found all of the 673 rip-off reports listed here. I would like to be included and notified by email of any class-action lawsuits against this company. I believe they should reimburse EVERYONE who received one of these rip-off scam vacation package vouchers.

Mine was the standard "Your responsible Financial history has earned you this $1,600.00 travel voucher." It supposedly includes '3 Nights of "Gold Key" Award Winning accommodations in Sun-Kissed South Florida,' a 'Round-trip cruise aboard Carnival Cruise Lines or Imperial Majesty Cruise Line,' 'Port of call on the beautiful Island of Nassau, Bahamas,' 'Two nights of "Gold Key" Award Winning accommodations in Magical Orlando, Florida,' '7 Days transportation by Alamo Rent-A-Car during your vacation.'

I urge everyone to contact the Florida State Attorney General's office at 850-414-3600 about Ramada Plaza Resorts, being investigated in Case #L05-3-1053. This should have been taken care of years ago and points to government corruption or incompetence. Do they even care how many people are ripped off? Maybe we could sue the State of Florida, too! And what is the FTC doing about this?!

Learn to Say NO

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 18, 2009

The answer to "Bob" is learn how to say no. This whole Ramada business - it is not a scam - is a way to sell timeshares because most serious investors know that a timeshare is not a very good investment. Check on ROR for the multitude of people who are having no luck reselling them. The timeshare people are paid for each shill sucked into the sales room. The salespeople are professionals and are trained to pressure you until you sign. What you should do is say absolutely nothing. Answer no questions and sit there until the farce is over. Another ploy is to laugh in their faces and be as rude as possible.  If you sign up for a Ramada vacation you HAVE to attend the timeshare meeting in order to get tickets to a theme park or go on a cruise. iT ISN'T WORTH IT since you have already paid for the cruise. If you can't afford a timeshare and know nothing about them which is obvious, then tell them up front and just put up with the sales pitch. They will look for other suckers if you are demanding enough. Just say no. Failure to do so as you have discovered places you in a bad situation.

Interested in the Class Action Suit

AUTHOR: Bob - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 16, 2009

I too was conned into this vacation package but also was conned into the upgrades and then the Timeshare package. Even after reading and in fact taking these rip off reports into the timeshare meetings. I had the sweetest Realtor that were so nice but very pushy. They told me that as a single mom I owed these vacations to myself and my boys and that they would teach me how to use it as an investment in renting out the timeshare. However I was not to mention that to the deed investor or they would be fired. I told them many times that I could not afford it in fact a male Realtor asked if it would take the food off the table for my boys and I said yes but they still pushed. By the end of the 6 hour long timeshare visit I had three Realtor pressuring me into this timeshare plus a Bank of America credit card to pay for the deposit. I was tired and very emotional as they some how brought my deceased father into it all. It was just me and my boys in their rent-a-car and no more money to get another hotel after spending all of my money on passports, airfare, taxes, upgrades, extra car fees and other entertainment since my Sea World tickets that they promised were no longer available. This trip ended up costing me about $6000.00 plus since I did final sign the timeshare papers it cost me another $1811.00 to Bank of America that I finally paid last week so that they would not take me to court. I tried to cancel my vacation before I went and they would not let me. I tried to cancel my timeshare and they would not let me so I just canceled my account so they could not take anymore money out. I am so exhausted by this whole situation that started April 13, 2008. I just want all the harassing phone calls to end and knocks to my credit to stop. I would be interested in a Class Action Suit to try and get my money refunded as well. They need to be stopped especially in this economy.

Consumers are not the only people they rip off, ex-employee inside info

AUTHOR: Karyn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, June 11, 2005

Ramada Plaza Resorts is the WORST company I have ever had the displeasure of knowing, and that is from the viewpoint of the wife of an ex employee.

They rip off their own employees, claiming they do not say things they are supposed to say to a prosepect, yet without proof that this did or did not take place, go and fine the employee 250.00 on their next pay check, leaving them with literally near nothing after taxes.

They charge employees in the telemarketing rooms 8.00 per day to rent a crappy CRT type computer that should be in a museum by now.

Employees in the Telemarketing rooms are on a 10-99 basis yet required to work 6 days a week and have a choice of morning or evening shift. BUT must be there during scheduled shifts with scheduled breaks.

Ramada Resorts engages in slave labor or sweatshop type practices with their telemarketing rooms in my humble opinion and every one of those rooms need to be investigated.

Mr Atty General get off your butt and do something ,we the citizens whether rippped off on a vacation pkg or as an employee deserve this to be investigated and dealt with.

To those who have been ripped off by Ramada Plaza Resorts begin by placing a fraud complaint on the charge on your credit card, I would suggest with all the pages of complaints here people get together and consider a class action lawsuit, there is power in numbers.
