I was referred to Paul Ortiz by other professional. At my arrival, I was informed by Dr. Ortiz that I need a special 3-D x-ray. They told me I have to pay cash now, however, after claim will be submitted to my insurance company, I will be 100% reimbursed by my insurance company. The 3-D x-ray cost $350.00, they told me. I agreed. A few weeks later, I received only 10% reimbursement from the insurance company. I called the insurance company; representative explained to me that Medical Office staff know very well how well just 90% reimbursement will be received. They should refer me to a professional within a network of my insurance, and it would be 100% free. I called the office of Dr. Ortiz, and I was shocked with the answer: the manager told me they never promised reimbursement and she hangs up the phone. I called next day and received very rude answer again. Later, I also learned that 3-D x-ray cost from $65.00 to $250.00 max, not $350.00. I felt mislead and treated poorly. This is not about the money; it is not what I would expect from Raul Ortiz, the medical professional we shall trust Doctors do have our best interest in mind. We are trusting them with our health, the most valuable possession we have.
