RE: 2006 BUICK LUCERNE CXL LEMON PURCHASED 6/2/2010

On June 2, 2010, I paid cash for a Certified Pre-owned (1 previous owner) 2006 Buick Lucerne CXL with 30,383 miles (recorded by the dealer as 30,311) from Ray Skillman Ford dealership that had been traded in to the Ray Skillman Mitsubishi Kia dealership next door. I put the down payment on the car and two days later went to pick it up. As part of the "deal" I paid for the rotors to be turned on the brakes because I thought it needed new brakes. I also noticed that it did not have the same tires which caught my attention when I looked at the car.

When questioned about the tires, they said "oh, we wouldn't do that" (change the tires) Later, I was told that 2 new tires were put on the car. I was also told that new windshield wipers were put on the car, later to use them and one flew off and put a chunk in the windshield. In August, the GMC dealership replaced them and told me that the Ford service department had put the wrong wipers on the car. The Ford store supposedly took the car to a glass shop in September or later and buffed out the scratch, yet I still see the scratch. The car had issues immediately with tire pressure, front end alignment and steering problems. I took it back several times for the tire and steering and other issues and inadvertently, I found the previous owner and he looked at the car and told me of the things that were missing and or different than when he traded it in and he went with me to the dealership to get the car fixed.

When I first test drove the car it was in the Mitsubishi KIA detail shop. They told me that they had to repair the handle in the back headliner and actually had taken the ON Star antennae off the vehicle. When that was fixed and replaced, the headliner was put back in wrong and the glue they used, got all over the lower rocker panel of the car. The headliner is still not right. The drivers side door handle came completely out of the car and when they replaced that they didn't put the inside door panel on properly and the door panel kept catching on the inside lower door ledge and the paint got scratched up.

The clip wasn't replaced properly. That time I took the car back after the previous owner went with me, they told me that they put all new tires on the car and realigned and fixed the steering. Finally, I thought the problems were fixed with the tires, steering and alignment, yet the right front drivers side tire looked low all the time. At each time the car was in the shop, I mentioned the tire and was told that they just look that way, the tire was fine. No one ever checked the tire or the tire pressure. The salesman and the service department always told me that US 31 had a crown in it and that is why the car pulled to the right. The brakes were still grinding and finally they put new front brakes on the car in September or October.

During this process of service issues on the warranted car, the Ford dealership kept sending me to the GMC dealership for warranty repairs. I was told that all of the recall items on that car were fixed. I have at least 19 (or more) service records on my car. The GMC has only reported 11. I have put over 1000 miles on the car besides countless headaches and time spent sitting in the shop to have these items fixed that should have been covered under their 117 point certified pre owned vehicle report and never been an issue when I purchased the vehicle.

When I was given the certified paperwork initially, the 117 point inspection report was not completed and when I complained about that after the previous owner went with me to get the car fixed was given the 117 inspection report, yet none of the vehicle information was completed on the form, nor my name and information. When my car had 35,998 miles on it, the gas door broke and I took it back to get that fixed and to have the car looked at over the tire issue. That time, the left front tire had 29 pounds of air in it and all the tires were filled with different tire pressures. They put all of the tires to 30 pounds of air. When that was done, all of the steering, alignment issues returned.

The gas door was fixed and the part was different than the original and the gas door wasnt flush with the car body. I have tried repeatedly to speak to Billy Skillman and Ray Skillman to get my money back and keep getting the run around and more promises to fix the car. The last time I took the car back for the tire issue and the gas door, the right front tire had 29 pounds of air in it and all the tires were filled with 30 pounds of air. When that was done, all of the steering, alignment issues returned. After demanding to speak to Ray Skillman, they put a brand new set of Michelin tires on the car. I left the next day to go out of town to my daughters wedding and the car was all over the place and I literally have to fight the road to keep the car straight.

Also, while following her and her maid of honor to the church for rehearsal, all of the sudden my car sped up and the cruise control came on and I almost hit the maid of honor in the rear end of her car. Also, my CD player just came on by itself when I didn't change the band on the radio. I think that some computer problems are on the car from all the repairs they have done and failed to report. I also found out that I had a 12,000 mile/12 month bumper to bumper GM warranty because it was sold as a certified GM vehicle which included 3 month trial of ON star and XM Radio, and roadside assistance and replacement vehicle while in for service. I have sat countless hours at the service department getting this car fixed and have only received a rental car 2 times out of the 19+ times I was there.

I had to pay $55.00 to have a locksmith come and open my car after locking the keys inside and now find out that should have been covered. I have filed a complaint with GM and am filing this report and with the BBB in Indianapolis, and the State of IN Attorney General and the Ripoff Report. I want ALL OF MY MONEY BACK!!!!; including the taxes and the title and paperwork fees that I paid a total of $17,691.00 plus $18.86 to have Mobile 1 oil changed in the car as requested when the oil was changed to Ray Skillman Ford. Additionally, I have paid the title and registration fees and the insurance premiums to fully insure the vehicle of approx. $1,500.00 and the $25.00 for the Mobile 1 oil. I would settle for a $20,000.00 cashiers check from Ray Skillman Ford, GMC, and Mitsubishi KIA dealership to reimburse me for the expense, time, trouble and headaches that they have caused me for purchasing this lemon!!
