My husband died suddenly about 3 months ago and I wanted to have my dimonds put in a setting along with his birthstone. So I went to Regency Jewelry and the man told me to pick a setting and that they would have no problem making the ring for me.All I wanted was to have my dimonds put in a new setting and added my husbands birthstone to wrapp around them.

Well the guy said he would make sure it was done perfect. He knew how much this ment to me.Holding back tears i told the man please what ever you do dont loos my dimonds That I wanted to make sure they were going to be my dimonds.

Well about aweek latter they called and said my ring was ready. When I got there to pick up the ring the guy said they were closing so I had to hurry.I went in and picked it up looked at it and said it fits and looks good then i noticed there was things wrong with it.The guy said they were closing and to bring it back the next day to go over anything that is wrong with it.

Well the next day came and the owner looked at the ring and totaly agreed it needed to be fixed and all resetted. He said they were going to start from scratch.I told him how much this ring ment to me and he said he understood and would make sure it was taken care of and that he will be responsible for it.

well 4 weeks latter I went to go pick it up and yes it looked alot better but when I got home I noticed a dimond was missing and one was very cloudy and a couple were chiped.I went to 3 places to have it check and they all said the same thing and saw what I saw and said they must have replaced dimonds with there dimonds cause they were so poor in grade.I even went to the place where my husband got our rings and they said they have another one in another store and they matched up the dimond grade and theres no way that this was one of my dimonds and even if it was this would have been seen the day i got it.They had to check to see if it was real and yes it was but very bad low grade dimond.

Now what do I do I feel like they took somthing from me,not only will I never have my husband, Now I am wearing anothers persons dimonds and not the dimonds that were mine, well at least some of them.So now i have 2 chiped dimonds one in real low grade and 1 missing and 1 other that is ready to fall out .now I wounder are the rubys even real.

I went back and the man working who I think might be the owners son told me i would have to come back to speak with the owner and theres nothing they can do.I will have to wait. I feel like my whole world is just toubling down and At this point I dont even care if i died tommrow. What has happend with the people these days, noone cares and I wounder by doing this does it really matter

Response to Stacey in Schenectady

AUTHOR: Regjewel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 25, 2009

I am owner the owner of Regency Jewelers and let me begin by saying that something like this never would happen in Regency Jewelers and if it anything like were to ever happen it would not be handled in the manner described. I must stress that we are not in the business of taking someones precious and sentimental items and substituting something else in it's place as we have thousands of our own diamonds and by condoning the practice Stacy describes we would not be in business as long as we have been. The next area of Stacy's complaint I will address is seeing that I am the owner of Regency Jewelers it would be myself that she refers to in complaint and I do not recall speaking to her or know of this incident ever occuring and there are proceedures in place if ANY customer ever has an issue or complaint and needs to speak with myself. The last 2 items I will address is that Stacy claims that she was rushed out of the store and I close almost every nite and have never seen anything like that in our stores and lastly the claims of poor workmanship are untrue due to the fact that we have a quality control system in place for ALL repairs done and I find it difficult to believe that our GIA certified inspection staff would let that repair go out as described by Stacy. If the claims about the dismond grades being different and poor workmanship were true then please have a certified repair person put that in a written document and forward it to Regency for review. Regency Jewelers will defend and aggressivly persue those who make inaccurate or false claims as to Regency Jewelers reputation which has taken years to build.
