Regent's Secret advertised designer merchandise for up to 70% off retail prices. They sent periodic emails to registered "members" of upcoming sales. In October, I purchased a bag from their website for which my credit card was charged. When I did not receive the product over a month later, I called their customer service number. The number would not accept any messages because the mailbox was full. I then sent an email to their generic info mailbox.

I received a response several days later stating there was a huge demand for the product, and there was a delay in shipment from the manufacturer. I was assured in the email I would receive the product shortly, and they would refund my shipping cost for my inconvenience.

Several weeks later, I contacted them again, to no avail. Again, their phone lines did not get answered, and I never received an email response to my written inquiry. I tried again for the third time several weeks ago (more than 2 months after the order was placed), and again, I could not get through the phone lines. I sent yet another email, and again, there was no response.

Today, January 22nd, 3 months after I placed my order, I tried to reach their customer service line again, and the phone number is no longer in service. All of their published numbers are out of service. Because it's been more than 60 days, even my credit card company will not take up the dispute. It looks like the company closed, taking its customers' monies with them!

I have seen on various blogs and websites that there are other customers who are also waiting for their orders, and were unaware the company had closed. Their lack of response to inquiries and failure to notify customers (especially those whose money they had already taken without fulfilling the orders) about closing down their business, demonstrate terrible business ethics. Regent's Secret is unethical and irresponsible - its owners and employees should be ashamed of their unethical practice.
