I HAD JUST RECEIVED A DISABILITY SETTLEMENT AND WENT LOOKING FOR A CAR. WE HAD NO INTENTION OF PURCHASING A CAR FROM REGGIE'S, BUT THE SALESMAN BEGGED US TO LET THEM "EARN OUR BUSINESS" AND PROMISED THAT THEY WOULD FIX ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE OF OUR CHOICE TO ENSURE THAT WE HAD A RELIABLE VEHICLE.

I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT WE HAD FOUR CHILDREN, ONE AN INFANT, AND THAT I WAS ON DISABILITY, AND WE HAD TO HAVE A TRUSTWORTHY VEHICLE. THEY PROMISED AGAIN THAT ANYTHING THAT WAS WRONG WOULD BE FIXED AND THEY WANTED US TO BE HAPPY.

WE CHOSE A 1989 MAZDA MPV 4WD ON AUGUST 19,1999. AFTER THREE WEEKS WE FINALLY GOT THE SMOG CERTIFICATE AND SO ON SEPT.25,1999 I WENT TO START THE VAN SO I COULD GO AND REGISTER IT AND THE BATTERY BLEW UP. THEN AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY, THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT.

I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE TO THE GENERAL MANAGER, MIKE HUGHES AND HE SENT A TOW TRUCK OVER TO PICK IT UP. THEN LATER CALLED TO TELL ME THE COST OF THE TRANNY WOULD BE $750.00 PLUS LABOR. I TOLD HIM I REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE TRANS WORK SINCE THEY PROMISED US A RELIABLE VEHICLE AND HAVING THIS VAN FOR JUST OVER A MONTH, A MAJOR PROBLEM HAPPENED. I TOLD HIM THE RESPONSIBILITY LIES WITH THEM. THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR IT AND I CALLED MY LAWYER. SHE SENT THEM A DEMAND LETTER TELLING THEM TO FIX OR GO TO COURT AND THEY WROTE BACK SAYING THEY WOULD STAND BEHIND THE WARRANTY "IF" WE AGREED TO THE BUYERS GUIDE, A COPY OF WHICH WE NEVER RECEIVED.

I SENT THEM A CERTIFIED LETTER, AT MY LAWYERS BEHEST, STATING THAT WE WANTED OUT OF THE AGREEMENT COMPLETELY, THAT WE WOULD TAKE THEM TO COURT FOR THE ENTIRE AMOUNT OF THE LOAN, PLUS OUR DOWN PAYMENT OF $2500.00 AND DAMAGES, AND THAT WE WANTED THIS CLEARED FROM OUR CREDIT REPORT.

AFTER 9 DAYS MIKE HUGHES FINALLY CALLED BACK SAYING THAT HE WOULD GO AHEAD AND PAY FOR THE TRANSMISSION.

THE VAN STILL IS NOT FIXED AND THE FINANCE COMPANY IS NOW THREATENING US WITH LEGAL ACTION BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T MADE A PAYMENT SINCE NOT HAVING THE VAN. WE DON'T FEEL THAT WE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING WE DIDN'T HAVE AND WE TRULY WANT OUT OF THIS DEAL BECAUSE THEY ARE TOTALLY NOT TO BE TRUSTED. THEY WOULD SELL LIFE INSURANCE TO AN ELDERLY PERSON IF THEY COULD GET AWAY WITH IT. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MAKING MONEY AND SINCE THEY ALREADY GOT PAID BY THE FINANCE COMPANY, THEY DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS NOW.

SO WE ARE STUCK WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND NO WAY TO GET THIS RESOLVED. AND WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE FINANCE COMPANY WHO DOESN'T CARE THAT WE DON'T PHYSICALLY HAVE THE VAN, THEY JUST WANT THEIR MONEY.

PLEASE HELP US GET OUR MONEY BACK!!!! WE NEED HELP!!!!
