Don't buy a new car from Reliable chevy in Springfield, MO. My wife and I went there to look at the possibility of purchasing a new car, program car, or new-used car. 6 hours after being there they finally put us in a car, not the car we wanted, not a car we could afford, but what they could possibly swindle us into. They failed to inform us that we had 72 hours to bring the car back if for any reason we were unsatisified under MO law. We learned this later on our own.

They put us in a different car than the one we were promised, also different from the one we test drove. The forced us into buying extra things we didnt need or want, they lied to the bank. We several times asked for a different car that would be more affordable for us, or new used or program but were told that this was the only car on their entire lot they could approve for us. The only car on their entire lot the bank would approve for us.

Now the best part, the brand new car that they put us in, has had nothing but problems, I have owned over 5 used cars in my life and all 5 put together didnt have as many problems as this car has. They dont honor their warranty. In fact they not only lie, cheat and steal from their customers they also inslut them, exact quote from their customer relations manager, "your an arrogant imbescile." That is what he said to my wife and I when they refused to service our car that they sold us.

Oh, how about within the first 1000 miles they had to resurface the rotors on the car due to they were warped, a brand new car and warped rotors? How about how they kicked us off their lot because we refused to except that the car is new, it looks like from the front end that the car has been in an accident, before we bought it. We asked they stated no, not that they know of.

But Troy, our salesperson stated to us that they do have new cars that get wreecked and that they fix them in their own body shop no claim to insurance so that they dont have to report to carfax and put new tag back in them and sell them new without anyone knowing otherwise. how about, how they stated that, " you didnt buy a corvette or mercedes, so you dont get perfection in a base model cobalt." we were suppose to get the car for invoice price, never happened, in fact they charged us more than a new 2008 equipped model right now sells for, let's not forget how they forced us into the 24.95% interest rate.

we are paying over $27,000 over 5 years for a piece of crap, no wonder GM is falling in sales, with dealerships like this. Well, this being our first ever first time car buying experience, it has been absollutely a nightmare, dont worry, we have learned. We will never buy another new car again, we will stick to used only. At least than we know what we are getting.

ONce again, stay away from Reliable Chevrolet of Springfield, Mo. Oh, one more note, Craig Youngblood (Yes Youngblood and Reliable are owned by the same people) was the arrogant one to deny and make excuses to what is wrong with our car.

I too was scammed by them

AUTHOR: Kiwi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 01, 2011

I went in this  week to trade in a car, they appraised it at 5000.00 ran my credit, approved me for a 16800.00 HHR, I cleaned my car out and took they pre-owned one.  The next Day they said to bring the car back they needed to put my into a higher booked car?? Or have a co-signer...This had me at a loss. After going back and forth, they kept trying to put me into a Nissan I did not want (same price) or get a co-signer (I have not had one since I was 16 - 29 years ago). Now saying they were only really giving me 2100.00 for my Cobalt, mind you I have a signed contract saying they are giving me and appraised it at 5000.00!!  Finally totally frustrated, I brought a co-signer...they called me later and told me that No, I still could not have the HHR.  I told them to have my Cobalt ready, I was done dealing!

When I arrived, they said they had been back and forth with the financial manager and they could get me approved for a Subaru Outback... Huh??? I asked what the price was on that one...a cool 21800!

They approved just me and sold me a 16800 Chevy HHR, then back peddled twice, all the time telling me I needed another car, and could be approved for the the 21800!!   I don't do business this way, I told them the payment I wanted to stay at, and all they did was try to force me into a bigger one, by telling me this was the only car on the lot I could have.

I would have never bothered to clean out my car, and certainly would not have driven the HHR off the parking lot.  I don't like being lied to or played with.

Same Owners

AUTHOR: Common Sense - (United States of America)

so...do you really think that Youngblood and Reliable are owned by the same people?!?! Reliable would be a Cecil Van Tuy Store my friend. You've really shown your intellegence, how did you ever figure out how to use your computer? 72 hours to return the car? I hope that you go see a lawyer so that you laughed at. There is no 72 hour return policy unless someone comes to your house and sells you something!

You were forced? You did not have to sign anything. Did they put a gun to your head? Put a knife to your throat? The customer relations manager is right you are an arrogant imbecile.

BTW there are no guarantees you will not have problems with a vehicle be it new or be it used.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

You should have stopped before the deal was made.

Quote- "they finally put us in a car, not the car we wanted, not a car we could afford, but what they could possibly swindle us into." How could you go through with it? That should have thrown up a bunch of red flags signaling what kind of operation they run. There are descent dealers out there-shop around. Usually if they start twisting your arm with BS, there's more headaches to follow for the whole time you own the car. When I go looking for a car, if thwey start crap like that, I run away quickly. Quote- "were told that this was the only car on their entire lot they could approve for us. The only car on their entire lot the bank would approve for us." That's bull.
