Rent Recovery Solutions, LLC acts on behalf of Meridian Management (dba Meridian Managment, Inc, Meridian Managment, LLC, Meridian Management partners) to collect rental payments for Meridian Management's clients.  Meridian Management never came to the property after a hurricane tore a hole in the roof in March 2013, never put up a tarp or made any repairs to stop the water and mold from taking over our stuff.  They didn't  reply to certified letters letting them know we'd be moving out.  Living month to month, we had no lease after ours expired in October 2011.  We cleaned everything and moved out, returning all keys with a picture of the keys. 

We sought a return of the deposit, which was denied, even after the 30 day minimum allowed by law, although we were never late paying and made improvements to the property, which were not reimbursed as promised.  We counted those costs and the $500 unreturned deposit as a loss in 2013 and moved on;  It was shocking to find more than $1,600 in back rent as a bad debt placed on the credit report, for the first two months AFTER we moved out.  The January 2014 credit report listed us owing Rent Recovery Solutions, LLC more than $1,600, without having signed any lease, or any document, at any time with their customer Meridian Management.

There was no basis for this fake debt, so we complained to the CFPB, the Federal Trade Commission and other agencies, only to be stonewalled for about 5 years.  Rent Recovery Solutions kept verifying, without evidence, this fake debt and the agencies listed here didn't help.  Rent Recovery Solutions and their business partner, Meridian Management cost us a home loan, triple the rate of a consumer loan, denial of a bank account, denial of credit cards, being charged a huge utility deposit and public humiliation as bad debtors.  They have caused years of intentional emotional distress from this fake debt.  The outcome was the victory in the Magistrate Court of Cobb County, GA.  After presenting our evidence, and their lack of a single document supporting their scam debt, we won!!!  The judge awarded $10,000.00 for this fake debt and the years of harm it has caused, which we now must collect from them.

We demanded that Equifax and the other credit bureaus remove the $1,600.00 fake debt and not place it on the credit report again, in a certified letter with return receipt, or we would sue them for triple our $10,000.00 judgement.  That won't be an issue for them surely, since their posted revenue on Dunn & Bradstreet Hoovers last year was reported as $490,000.00.  The judgement in the Magistrate Court of Cobb County, State of GA is styled  Civil Action Number 18-J-09141, signed by the Magistrate Court Judge for the Cob Judicial Circuit on November 19, 2018.  If you've been harmed by Rent Recovery Solutions, you can have your day in court too.  Their business address is 1945 The Exchange, Suite 120, Atlanta, GA 30339.  Go to Cobb Magistrate Court located at 32 Waddell Street, 3rd floor Marietta, GA 30090 in the Public Safety Bldg  Fill out your 1 page pleading listing what they owe you, what they have done to harm you and pay the filing fee. 

Even if you live out of state, file and the service will be transferred. Note: Most counties/municipalities have a waiver for those unable to pay as well.  Each Defedent has 30 days to reply after the sheriff serves them. Please have all of your documents (and 1 copy to read from) as you tell the judge what happened.  Don't be intimidated, appearing pro se or without an attorney is not hard.  Speak clearly and slowly, and present your evidence and tell how it's harmed you.  And, always bring witnesses and your new lease or information showing that you do not owe.  As consumers we have a right to a correct credit report, not be blackmailed and not have fake debts keep you from buying a home, getting a good job, obtain A-Rated insurance, starting a business, etc.  Let the truth be your sword.
