| Problem description: Complaint: I signed up for a 7 day free trial. After signing up, I immediately realized the site is not useful to me. on 04/16/2016 try to cancel on line but I was not able, after doing some research as to how to cancel my account, I learned the only way to cancel is by calling them during their business hours and sitting on hold until someone picks up. So I called. The first time I called, I was put on hold then I was disconnected and after several times I get the "our lines are currently closed" message. Second time I called, I sit on hold for 20+ minutes and the most annoying recordings begging customers to give them another try before giving up. Then I send them email via contact us requesting cancellation so I would not be charged $49.95. Then I called on 04/17/2016 and after several calls I got someone this time. I was finally able to cancel my account. But even though my account was cancelled, and it was too late. They charged me 49.95 for a service I will not use ever again. I was assured by customer service that I should not be worried and a refund will be issued in 24 hours and during that time I can even look at the site one more time to explore the benefit until the cancellation goes in effect and refund be issued .I look at the site one more time less then few minutes and decided the inaccurate information is misleading and unverifiable and simply they are providing information from different sites without any verification which can cause severe financial loss if they do believe the information is accurate. I suspect Realtytrac knows this and purposefully puts up barriers to cancellation to sustain their membership revenue. I want a full refund for my membership and I want compensation for the headache and absolute waste of my time they subjected me to. So frustrated with them. Desired Settlement: Refund of 49.95 + compensation for my wasted time and suffering trying to cancel my account. |
