At first Dr. Momeni made me feel very comfortable that he would give me the results that I wanted. Boy was I wrong. I went to Dr. Momeni to repair my bridge of my nose and THATS ALL! The surgery date was finalized and I went in for surgery and the payments were made of about $9,000. Everything was done and taken care of. After surgery he claimed to have spent more time than originally proposed and demanded about $2,000+ more.

At this point I was a mess after surgery, the recovery process was terrible.  Absolutely TERRIBLE. During my recovery process, I had gone in to Dr. Momeni's office several times to check a stitch that worried me in my septum. He assured me that it was nothing to worry about. A few months later, the cartilage around said stitch started getting bigger and BIGGER! Soon enough, a year later I had a hole in my septum that was the size of a 6 guage ear plug. In addition to having the hole, I had a whisting sound every time I exhaled..I was questioned if I had a drug habit. I have ever touched drugs in my life nor have I ever smoked.

Two years later, Dr. Momeni FINALLY decided that the right thing to do was take responsibility and fix it. He did.

Having a hole in my septum was not the problem that I had with this so called reconstructive surgery. Reza reconstructed my nose to look like pinocchio! All I wanted was a better bridge.  Prior to my surgery I loved the tip of my nose and NEVER had a problem with it. Now for the past 2 years I look at myself in the mirror and see an ugly person. It sometimes upsets me to the point where I cry. I hate looking at myself now.

In response to the hate for my tip, Dr. Momeni offered to fix it but only if I pay him more money as if $12,000 wasn't enough in the first place.

My family paid nearly $12,000 for me to look like pinocchio. I am looking forward to the day that I can fix this mess and gain my confidence back.

I am a real patient. Dr. Momeni may be a nice person but in the end just like every other business man, he's in it for the money. He will set up a problem for another opportunity to make money in the future and blame it on you and how you cared for the surgery.

Save yourself the trouble, money and emotional pain and go elsewhere. Trust me, I wish I did.

#1 REBUTTAL Individual responds

Dr. Momeni's Response

AUTHOR: Reza Momeni MD - ()

My office staff and I read this report when a very grateful patient notified us about what was being written about our practice.  Our professional and ethical standards prohibit us form discussing any patient's individual care on the internet, as we value privacy and confidentiality greatly in our practice.  Therefore, even though this post requires a response, it has to be informative and honest in nature, and not specific to this poster's individual care details.

We take great pride in taking our time with educating patients about plastic surgery procedures before their treatment.  In many cases, we have two or more visits with a patient prior to surgery.  We value our patients' trust and our hard-earned reputation for honesty and expertise.  We always review possible complications and our policies and procedures before surgery.  We think of our patients as family members and treat them as if they were.  Of course we never wish for any patient to experience a complication, but every intelligent patient understands that even with good patients and expert surgeons, complications are possible.  The key to complications is proper treatment under the care of a competent and ethical surgeon.

My personal philosophy with plastic surgery is to try hard to prevent an "operated" look, and to do my best to aim for natural-looking results.   I am particularly critical and honest about my own rhinoplasty results, since the work is out in the open for everyone to see.  With our rhinoplasty operations, if we experience complications or if patients need revision procedures that can reasonably be carried out, we do not typically charge a surgeon's fee.  If patients need treatment by other doctors or visits to operating facilities however, patients are responsible for those providers' fees.  This is the standard of our practice, and EVERY patient is made aware of this prior to any surgery.

We will absolutely not violate this poster's confidentiality, but we welcome any questions that existing and prospective patients might have about our ethical standards, practice policies, and the standard of care that we hold very seriously.
