  • Rick Hendrick Auto Group North Charleston, South Carolina USA

Rick Hendrick Auto Group I recently brought a car from Rick Hendrick back in Sept 2013. The experience was horrible. The sales person I had was a con. I brought a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta and thought I purchased the car of my dream only to find out later that the engine was replaced and the passenger side axle was replaced. When the deal happened the salesperson gave me a 2 page car fax that didnt have the mechanical problems listed. I have tried to settle this with the dealership. They offered me another car with $1000 down again. I believe I was a victim of consumer fraud so I'm taking my case further. North Charleston South Carolina

I recently brought a car from Rick Hendrick back in Sept 2013. When I spoke with the dealership, my sales person wanted to give me the run around stating that I needed to speak with the mechaniccal dept. They were no help at all.

The next day I decided to go up there. They offered me another car with $1000 down again.  I have tried to settle this with the dealership. I have consulted a lawyer on this matter and was told that this is consumer fraud. I appeared at the dealership a couple more times and spoke with management and was basically told I would come out better if I just put the money I was spending on a lawyer down on the car. He told me that he has done this over a thousand times and he would know the outcome. Basically saying I would loose my case if I took it to court.

I recently received an email from a corporate marketing person from Rick Hendrick when I posted my review on Yelp.com. She has been very helpful. The dealership not so helpful. Rick Hendrick has been working for 3 weeks to get me into another car. They don't return calls and I feel like they are stringing me along. I'm getting very tired because I'm the one who has to keep calling them for an update.

I have stated my case and stand very clear on it. I went there trusting the person who would be selling me the car not to get ripped off by the person selling me the car. I'm far from walking. Next

Used cars salesman are cons??

AUTHOR: Arbitrator - ()

POSTED: Monday, March 10, 2014

Used car salesman are cons? Wow, never heard THAT one before. They are usually upfront about everything

so that people who THINK they know about cars can sound like idiots and possibly not buy the car and the

salesman can skip a few meals that week. I would've checked the reviews on VW's and found out that they are

junk ands MOST of them get their engines replaced. As the other pster has asked, what problems are you having

other than internal? You can also tell a car expert by their reliance on CARFAX becaus ethey surly don't have

a bad reputation. hahahaha Some people would be better off walking.

Coast's Comments...

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, February 26, 2014

Coast nearly 100% of the time makes excellent comments and is usually right on target.  I'm NOT saying Coast is off base on this at all.  However, the one thing we need to remember here is the Rick Hendrick dealerships are known inside and outside the car business as nothing but acknowledged slimeballs, pure pond scum and a chain which operates on fraud and deception.  We must never forget what Rick Hendrick himself was involved with...under the table payoffs to get favored treatment in alotments.  As a result, that P-O-S goes to prison and SMELLS up the place.  He claims he had terminal cancer and asks a judge to release him to go home to die.  Somehow the judge agrees and the P-O-S walking diarehha goes home and later has this "miracle" and is free of cancer.  He then makes a huge contribution to the doctor's clinic.  Fraud and deception is a way of life with this chain.  If your claim is fraud, then you probably were defrauded.  How do you know it was a REAL carfax? This chain is no stranger to playing whatever game it takes.

Answer to your question

The carfax did state that the engine was replaced. A fact that I did not receive when I got the carfax. How I found out was when I took my car to a Volkswagen dealership and as soon as my VIN number is put into the system it shows the engine and axle replaced. If I had known the engine was replaced I would have never purchased this car period. When the engine was replaced the car was sold. Hearing that a new engine is a good thing doesn't give me a reassured fact that the car wont have problems later on. Which Im having problems now and the car has to go into the shop. The car is loud and sounds like a truck, it constantly have lights going off on the dashboad, it drives very ruff, etc. Rick Hendrick was able to pull the same carfax by the VIN number and show the same mechanical problems.

What Fraud??

AUTHOR: coast - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, February 26, 2014

Specifically, what is the consumer fraud? All you wrote is that the engine and an axle were replaced. Replacement of those items may be a good thing. Why do you think the dealership is required to inform you of that? The car has had at least one previous owner so what makes you think the dealership was aware of the prior service?

If an attorney told you they were guilty of consumer fraud then you have omitted major information because you have not shared anything in your report that supports that claim. A Carfax report only contains information supplied to Carfax, Inc. It’s not the fault of the dealership for printing out a Carfax report that is incorrect or incomplete.

“When the deal happened the salesperson gave me a 2 page car fax that didnt have the mechanical problems listed.”

What mechanical problems are you experiencing with the car?
