Trilegiant is a partner with National Home Protection Alliance, who is a partner with Columbia House Club and has been gleaning a fee of $39.95 each month from my bank account.
Their deceptive path to profits springs from a $10.00 check that Columbia House sent which appears to be a refund or rebate of some sort. In a consumer cashing the check, they become prey to Trilegiant, in my case the "service" of National Home Protection Alliance for a fee of $39.95 each month.
NHPA states that I authorized this check though I have no recollection of doing so. I had been in treatment for cancer and unable to personally keep up with screening my bank statements. My family was unaware that this was not an authorized monthly payment so they have been getting my money since November of 2004.
I have contacted TRILEGIANT and National Home Protection Alliance and requested a refund for any and all funds they have taken from my bank account.
NHPA has a link to their email but curiously, it was returned as undeliverable.
I am looking into any class action lawsuits placed against these companies.
COLUMBIA HOUSE CLUB was the initial contact in this matter and I suggest customers of theirs check any correspondence they recieve from CH for this ripoff offer. I cancelled my membership with them and suggest you do the same.
This is a disgusting and underhanded way of making a buck and MAY be illegal!
