This company offers online physician consultations for prescription medications. From the front page, you search for the medication you need to order...oh look, its cheaper than my local pharmacy! Ok, lets get it... oh, I have to have a $105 'consultation'... ok, that's how much any doc would charge me.
You fill out all the information they require, which includes a lot of medical history questions. Then you enter your credit card information, read all the "Terms of Service" carefully...$35 cancellation fee for if you don't take the consult...it all looks good so you click "Submit."
At this point you've been charged $105 for a service that hasn't yet been given. Then, if you go to check the status of your order, it says you must also fax a copy of your medical records to them before you can have your consult. Well guess what, if I had medical records handy I wouldn't probably be on this website!
If you look back throught the entire ordering process, NOWHERE does it state you will required to fax anything to them. So basically, I signed a contract with them to follow all the guidelines they presented up to the point of purchase, and they signed a contract with me to offer me a serice if I did so. I feel that bringing up new requirements after the fact without offering a FULL refund is WRONG and PURPOSEFULLY DECEPTIVE.
Customer Service says "any smart customer would read the FAQs before buying." True. I made a mistake there, b/c in the FAQs there is a little blurb about records. However, if I can go through the ENTIRE process of ordering, read all the Terms of Service, and never once be told to either read the FAQs or send medical records, then they can't use that "common sense" argument as a basis to deny me a full refund when they haven't lived up to their end of the contract we signed.
The real kicker is that I was hung up on by their customer service people more than once, called "dumb" and "illiterate." Finally, I was able to speak to a "manager" who frankly told me that in her training she was told to use this "you should have read the FAQs" argument to deny customers a full refund.
This tells me that they have set up the whole process in such a way as to deceive the customer, and that is just crooked... probably illegal. I don't know, I am no lawyer. But it makes me want to go to law school just so I can take these kind of companies on!
