Was looking for an online University to complete my Bachelor of Science degree. Contacted several of them and of course Bienville was the one that responded the quickest and seamed most helpful talked several times to a girl named Michelle and she explained to me they were an accredited University and in about 12 months I could finish my degree and tuition was $5000 for the BS program & $7500 for the Masters Program.

I informed her I was only interested in the BS Program for the $5000, she goes on to tell me if I wait and sign up later for the Masters Program it will be $5000 more unless you sign up now, But not to worry just because I sign up does not mean that I have to take the Masters program but it will be available for the $2500 by doing it this way and on the loan document it says tuition amount $5000 and loan amount of $7500, so I questioned this and was informed that I was borrowing $5000 but was qualified for the full $7500 if needed.

It sounded legitimate; she also informed me that the money would be drawn out quarterly. Month later when I am just starting my 1st class the FBI contacted me and was following up on the University because they had received numerous complaints by students who found out they were not as accredited as they claimed, also found out the school draws out the full tuition before the ink has even dried on the loan application.

So I called the school and told them I was withdrawing and to refund the money back to SLM Financial. They informed at that time there was a deadline of 30 days or so. I told them hey keep the 1st class cost and administration cost and refunds the balance.

They laughed and said you might as well keep taking the classes because we do not refund a penny after the deadline. So I called SLM thinking because they were government subsidized on the educational loans they would help they told me tough s**t you signed the promissory note it is your problem. So now I am expected to pay back $7500, which I thought I was only agreeing to $5000. So I got screwed by Bienville and SLM Financial
