My personal horrible experience with Rite Aid. All during the year of 2010 I had to constantly beg for my paycheck by calling Corporate. They explained to me that due to the laziness of my "Store Manager" not finalizing my time, is why my paycheck was always short. So every Monday I would have to call the Corporate office and have them finalize my time, which to my surprise didn't always work either. I also didn't know it was my medical insurance review period, that was a little surprise they had planned for their employees in Jan. 2011. (Jan, 31 is the end of their Fiscal Year). So on Jan 26, 2011 I get a letter stating that since I hadn't maintained full-time hours each week, they were going to cancel my insurance on Jan. 31 2011. In a usual twist of fate, their Health and Wellness website was down from Jan. 26 to Jan 31, so I couldn't get online to let them know it was a mistake. I called and faxed the letter to the corporate office and they weren't able to fix this mistake either. They did call and say sorry but we did find to more days you haven't been paid for, so we finalized it. By the way I never received a paycheck for the money owed because it was time I worked in 2010 and we are now in 2011. So while I'm stressing on how I'm going to make my mortgage payment each month, the "lazy" store manager is on the clock with Rite Aid and shopping at Walmart or getting her hair done!

Avoid this company like the plague! If you are looking for a great career with a fabulous company....they are so NOT it.

This is just one example of the crap they did to me and countless other employees. So to all you nice people that shop there and wonder why the employees are rude and always seem to be in a bad's your answer....they work for a horrible company that treats them like crap.

Sincerely, an ex-employee who currently works for a much better company :)

Seriously this is insane, file a complaint with the State Wage and Labor Board and the insurance commissioner.  It's truly a shame when a large corporation like this taking advantage of their employees. God Bless you for leaving and finding a better job.
I don't shop at this Rite Aid anymore and let me explain why.  I went in one day to pick up my Mother's prescriptions and was sold someone's else medicines. I didn't notice until I got home and had to make another trip to the store to return them. Tammy the pharmacy cashier was talking fast and acting like she was trying to cover what she had done. She had to page the store manager Crissy SEVERAL times to come help her do the return, so I could purchase the right medicine. It was an expensive purchase and I didn't have my wellness card with me, normally they ask for my phone number but Tammy got hers and scanned it. I didn't think about it at the time but that purchase wouldn't go to my purchasing level balance. They should have a policy in place to protect the customers from employee scams. My $300.00 dollar purchase went on her card and gives her a better discount. I called the 1-800-riteaid number and got no results.
They did have a few good people working there, that were always helpful and friendly but they had disappeared. When I asked about them, I was told they were on vacation or personal leave. I later found out they had been fired for something so stupid it made my head spin.

To sum it all up: I got lied to, inconvenienced, scammed, and treated bad by rude employees that are still employed there.
Thank God there are 2 other pharmacies in town that I could pick from, and I will never set foot in Rite Aid again!

Geez how do they stay in business!!!!

AUTHOR: Jamie - (United States of America)

I have recently stopped shopping at this Rite Aid. There is never a cashier behind the front counter and I would have to wave to the pharmacy staff so they could page someone to ring me up. The cashier was rude and acted mad that she had to come help me. The sale price didn't ring up correctly so the cashier had to page the store manager, who had the same bad attitude and was rolling her eyes. She had to stop texting on her cell phone to put in her override code then walked off while huffing and puffing. Lazy seems to describe her to a tee. The people in line behind me said she is always like that. Oh yeah so glad the community feels my pain!! Get a clue Rite Aid!! Your employees are following your managers lead. She sucks, they suck and you suck as a Company! Don't know how they stay in business but I guess stealing from their employees makes it possible.
