RiverBirch Manufactured Homes Clayton Shoddy built homes Hackelberg Alabama

I purchased this home October 2013 and moved in November 1 2013. This is a RiverBirch Model 2812, Doublewide with upgraded insulation. Problems started happening after I moved in. It took almost 2 years for the company to honor the ONE year warranty and fix the carpeted floor that was actually in buckled in places, the broken mirror in the master bath, windows that wouldn't close properly, exterior doors not closing all the way and smelly plumbing issues. 

The workers fixed what they could, but the smelly plumbing persisted. It took another 8-9 months to send someone out. Turns out the under sink stack was too short. Then the worker used one of my good towels to clean up the glue he used to put the pipes back together. (He didn't bother to ask me if I had any rags or bring his own) 

Then the cabinets started falling apart! First the hall bath drawer in the cabinet just fell apart when I opened it. I glued it back together; so now fell apart again! Next a cabinet door attached to the center island in the kitchen, just fell off the hinges! Had to drill new holes in the opposite side of the cabinet & reverse the opening. Next, the discovery of a slow leak that evidentally had been going on since purchased earlier in 2017. A professional plumber fixed the leak & said it was due to loose install! The mold took a few months to get rid of, along with yet another professional to install drywall since the Manufacturing company refuses to sell matching drywall to owners. When I called, they answered RiverBirch, and referred me back to the Mobile Home Dealer. It took another 4-5 months only to find they ordered ONE sheet of matching drywall, NOT 2 as I requested! I needed a total of 2! It cost $200.00 plus materials for the installation by a carpenter. Then I had to find paint to go with the existed drywall on the other 3 walls! Cost me for the paint, my time & my aching back. 

Right after that job was done, the cabinet door in the kitchen sink FELL off!! Again, drilled new holes on the other side of the base cabinet and reversed the door! This should NOT happen! 

But, the manufactured home is ONLY warrantied for ONE year!

Cabinets made out of some kind of glued together wood SHAVINGS & dipped in a plastic coat that once it gets a slight damage spot, the entire thing warps from ANY moisture & falls apart!

This particular home cost me close to $60,000.00 of course that included installation & underpinning with strap down into concrete & blocks to level. 

Why is this the NORM for Manufactured homes?! I have another 14 Years to pay mortgage and doubt if this home will last. 

I now have to replace the hall bath toilet seal for the 2nd time & am in the process of fixing a drawer in the bathroom cabinet. 

Now, also have to get an electrician to install a NEW FAN in the hall bath beacause the motor died!

No one will help me with these shoddy built cabinets. No one explained they would fall apart withing the first 4 years. 

There should be stricter disclosure laws that state the Manufactured Home Dealers have explain how these things are actually built! If I had known this, I would NEVER have purchased this RiverBirch Home. I blame both the dealer & the builder! 

Also, warranties should be covering for at least 10 years!
