Rizzo Ford wrongful termination for DOING my job. Ripoff! North Providence Rhode Island

I was employeed by Rizzo Ford as their new car lot person. It was my job to maintain the lot. Check in all new vehicles and various other things around the lot.

I never had a bad word said against me, did my job and went about my day never having to be told what to do. Throughout my days I was asked to do favors for the managers: go for coffee, run to the store for cigarets. None of which i really minded doing.

I was hired at $11.50 an hour but was told by the owners son Rob Rizzo he could easily hire some one for 8 an hour but they liked me and my work as well so i was hired at that rate.

Two new managers were brought on steve Magliose and David Shaw two of the meaneast and most self absorbed people i have ever met.

Both treated me like a personal slave. While on the job one day i was lining Ford rangers while a salesman helped me out. The salesman was unfamilar with manual transmissions and while he was helping me pinned my leg between the bumper and a light pole.

I was then brought to the emergency room i was lucky that my leg was not crushed but was to remain out of work and off my leg for two weeks. I went to the doctor seven days later so I didn't have to miss any more work. I was advised that if I could walk with a cane he would clear me to go back in three more days as long as I took it easy.

I returned back to work and was only there for four days and was fired for doing what I was told. I was asked to put plates on cars while I was getting the tools I needed I was appraoched by David Shaw and he started to scream at me telling me I wasn't doing what I was told. Three other managers over heard the yelling the whole time I was trying to tell him I was doing what he wanted.

I waited for Steve Magliose to get in that afternoon so I could talk it over with him. He is the General sales manager. I told him what happened and he came back to me and told me I was fired for not doing what I was told. I told him to speak to my witnesses about what happened and he refussed.

I never had a problem and enjoyed my job very much I feel because I was hurt and because they were cutting back on expenses that I was fired. The best part of all this is that after I was fired my name was trashed and the owners who were out of town were told I quit.

But unemployment was told I was fired for refusing to do my job. I was walking around in pain with my cane never once complaining and that's how I was treated. Todd Rizzo told me to come to work to talk about it and when I showed up he wasn't there. A month and a half or so after I was fired the same manager was fired for treating two other employees the same way I was treated. I needed that job very badly and lost it for doing exactly what I was told to do. Rizzo Ford is a bunch of no good thieves.

I'm not the first person treated in that manner and I wasn't the last. But I'm going to make sure they don't get away with what they did to me.
