Roadrunner Transportation Systems Damage claim denied even though driver and customer signed DR noting damage Cleveland Ohio

Shipped a video arcade game system to a customer using Roadrunner.  As the delivery driver opened the back of the truck, my customer took pictures of the crate we shipped that was completely mangled.  We shipped using shipment monitoring devices such as shockwatches.  Not only were the devices tripped, but there was very visible holes in the crate from what looked like towmotor forks.  My customer also took pictures of the contents through the gaping hole in the crate at the damage created (before even unboxing).  Both the driver and the customer signed the delivery receipt noting the damage.  We filed a claim with RRTS.  They sent someone to inspect the damage.  Their damage report noted the damage and included pictures.  Roadrunner ultimately denied the claim citing that the customer did not retain the cardboard box and shrink wrapping.
