Roake Painting Company and World Painting deceptive practice bloomington Illinois

having worked for both of these companies and ripped off by both, the consumer needs to know. World Painting is a painting company run by a guy named Colby, seems like a nice guy at first. Roake Painting is run by a guy named Kevin, also seems like a nice guy at first. Here is how it works, Colby goes around getting work by undercutting all who bid and gives promises of excellent work, he then gets ahold of Kevin to do said work sometimes with a work order with a set price most of the times without. Kevin hires people to help that usually are unemployed and have little skills, most of them alcoholics and drug addicts. 90% of the work requires traveling anywhere from 60 miles a day to 200 miles a day, workers that have a drivers license have to run around picking up the other help and then drive them to work then also take them home and are not compensated.

other help is supposed to help with gas but that rarely happens. Now if you are riding with Kevin the Boss, he deducts gas out of your pay each week. Now here is how the pay works, you work the first week and the bill is turned in on the following monday the check is issued the following monday after that, but you are only paid for the 1st week, so basicly you start your 3rd week to get paid for the 1st week so you are always owed 1 or 2 weeks pay. Then when the job is done you will hear this, (well this is all it paid so this is all I can pay ya). Sometimes figuring my hours and what I was paid, made as little as 4 dollars an hour, plus paying for my fuel made even less just braking even.

 now when doing work for Colby you will hear (hey can you run over to so an so job take care of this for me) you do it without a work order and he tells ya he will take care of ya, when it comes to pay. Then when it comes to pay that you waited 2 weeks to get, you get that same line,(this is all it pays so this is all I can pay ya) no matter the time you had in it or how far you had to drive. Once again lucky to just break even.

 Now lets talk about the Quality of work, they use the cheapest drywallers they can get so there is always drywall issues, cielings are always horrible at best, walls are not smooth nail pops everywhere, cracks at the seams, some seams not even sanded properly. you are told to go ahead and paint walls and cielings anyway. Then they send a drywaller back through to do the mudding over nail pops and seams and redo cielings. Then we have to go back repaint walls and cielings. This process goes on as many as 5 different times,but only pays for the first time which is 2 coats walls trim and cielings. And the thing is once the 2 coats are on and then the patching is done, the patches will never hide with paint, so you always see them. Here is another thing, Kevin is on the job in the beginning but once he has drawn the money off of it you will rarely see him if at all. So when the repairs are done he sends his help to finish it. If you refuse to go back and finish you will Hear (well your not getting paid then) thats where the holding your backpay comes into play. So most of the time the help is not happy so does sloppy work at best because they don't care. 

 Now would you hire this company? If you do, expect the job to take longer and very little quality. I've seen homeowners just give up and except the work so that they can move in. I wouldn't hire this company to paint a dog house.
