This company is a RIPOFF!!! I repeat RIPOFF!!! I purchased a leather living room set about 3 years ago for our newly purchased home. I also purchased a warranty plan . Within the first year of having this set we noticed that the leather was bubbling up and starting to peel. So I called the warranty department for them to come out and fix the problem. When I talked to customer service, I was told that my warranty didn't cover tearing or peeling on my contract. I was also told that my warranty only covered discolorations and mechanical problems. After talking to customer service I was so upset that I wasted money on 3 warranty plans for each pieces of furniture and that I bought  poorly made furniture. Now my leather set is peeling and bubbling up every where. I had to put a blanket to cover up the torn what I call "pleather" because it's falling apart. I am so embarrassed that I don't like to invite people to my home.  I can't believe that I spent over $ 2000 on what I thought was leather, but I now think that it's fake leather. I had a leather set that I used for over 15 years and  I never had one problem with it. I know what real leather is and what I purchased is not REAL LEATHER!!!! I also purchased a Dining Room Set from them also and now  the table and chairs are wobbly. We barely even use the set because we mostly only use our dining set in the kitchen. PLEASE... PLEASE... DO NOT BUY FURNITURE from ROOMS TO GO!!!!!

Rooms To Go Sells Fake Leather Furniture and does'nt disclose with the customer

AUTHOR: AnitaB. - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, August 28, 2013

Rooms to Go are Crooks!!! I was sold blended leather furniture without my knowlege. When I made a purchase at Rooms to Go in June of 2010, I was never told by the sales associate in Columbia, S.C. that the living room leather set that I purchased  was blended leather. I begin to notice the leather had bubbles forming and the leather was changing into a very thin covering about 2 years after my purchase . Now, I purchased a  3 year extended warranty making sure that if anything happened to my setwould be covered.

Well, the warranty dept. said that my set was only covered if there was a discoloration in my furniture. I was soooo upset that I spent money on a warranty plan that was a crock and that I bought a leather set that was cheaply made. In May 2013, I filed a report on here to get some help, but Rooms to Go resolution dept. was also a crock. After spending over $1800 for a set that I planned on having for many years,  Brandon Petty offered me only $708 to get something else from the store to replace my defective furniture.

He said that it only had a 1 year warranty and that's all that they could offer me due to normal wear and tear . Brandon Petty also told me that I had blended leather and that it was on my invoice. Now, this was the first time that I was hearing that I had blended leather because the sales associate never told me nor was it on my invoice in plain terms. What I saw was an abrieviation of blended leather in which I thought it meant a  brown leather because that's what I got. I never heard about blended leather until Brandon Petty told me that's what I had.

I don't think that this is right that a company can get away with selling furniture that won't make it over 2 years because of the cheap materials that it's made out of and they are'nt warning people that this is liable to happen over 2 years of time. I truly believe that this is why they have a 1 year warranty, so that the customer gets stuck with a piece of junk that they can't do anything about. I spent my hard earned money in this store only for them to steal from me. I think it was a slap in my face when I was offered $708 to replace my junk only to have to spend more money to replace the other pieces I'll miss as well.  Rooms to Go is overpriced and they should be investigated for fraud!!!!!!

Rooms To Go Sells Poorly Made Fake Leather Furniture

AUTHOR: AnitaB. - ()

POSTED: Monday, May 06, 2013

I responded to the rebuttal from Rooms to Go on April 4, 2013 and I emailed them everything that they asked for including pictures. On May 1,2013 I finally heard from Mr. Brandon Petty from the customer Care office about my claim. I purchased a 3- year EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY on my 3 piece leather set that hasn't expired yet , but Rooms to Go only wanted to offer me $708 instead of offering me what I paid for it which is $1872.45. It's not my fault that this furniture began to peel within the first year of owning this furniture and Rooms to Go would'nt even honor my 3- Year warranty because they said they did'nt cover tears . All the money that I spent on this piece of junk and the 3 year warranty plan was a waste of my hard earned money. Brandon Petty stated in his email that they would remove my leather set, but I would have to come up with the differnce to purchase another set of furniture at Rooms To Go. He even stated that the furniture should have lasted longer than this, but they only cover problems like mine for 1 year . In order for my furniture to be replaced I'll need about $1800.00 to replace what I loss, but they only want to give me $708 so I would have to come up with over $1000. A leather specialist can not fix this furniture because of it's continuous tearing so what am I suppose to do??? This is a crock and the offer is unfair. By the way, He gave me 30 day to use the $708, but he hasn't even responded to my email in over 5 days.  I responded to Mr. Brandon Petty on May 1,2013 and he has yet to contact me with a response. I am so dissatified with this company!!!! This is certainly not true customer service!!!!!! I will post pictures of my leather set on here if this problem is'nt resolved!!!

POSTED: Monday, April 29, 2013

We apologize for the disappointment caused by
your leather set. While Rooms To Go warrants new orders for one year, we certainly
expect it to last longer. If you could email us pictures along with order
information to TellUs@RoomsToGo.com
including Attention Ripoff Report in the subject; we would be happy to look
further into your account.
