I am one of many who have made the mistake of dealing with Roomstore Furniture. In November of 2001 I bought a bedroom set from the Roomstore, I paid cash. In January the bed broke. I asked for a replacement for the bed but they had stopped producing it. I was then asked to choose a whole new bedroom set, which I did. The new bedroom set was considerable less than the first so I was refunded some of my money. The guys came and changed out my bedroom suite but would not give me a copy of the receipt(first error).

Since that time, Roomstore says that I owe them 1161.38 for a bedroom suite that was removed by their employees. When I found out about this error I went down to the store and spoke with the manager. The manager stated that she knew what the problem was and she would fix it. Well, wouldn't you know that that after 10 visits the matter was not resolved. I moved out of Virginia and to Alaska. I wrote and called the company complaining about the situation. Twice my account has been put on hold so that they can resolve the issue.

The customer manager stated he knew I didn't owe anything but had to figure out how to clear out the system. Well it is now July 2002 and the matter has yet to be resolved. I am currently writing the better business bureau, consumer protection agency and am looking into hiring a lawyer to sue them for the mental and montary expenses they are costing me. If anyone else has any suggestions please feel free to respond.

If she paid cash...

AUTHOR: steve - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, July 10, 2002

If you paid cash, how come you keep referring to an account?

If you have an account with the company that hasn't been credited, that's one thing. However, if you paid cash, and they're asking you for more money, that's another. You said they refunded the difference in the bedroom furniture you selected, so I'm kind of confused as to what type of demand the Roomstore is asking of you. Please clarify.
