Found a 1989 Range Rover online advertised by RoverClassic (they also go by Saab Classic and other names), pictures online looked like a good clean truck. Spoke to who I presume is the owner Alex, he assured me it's 100%, I explained I would be tying in a trip to NYC and would be driving it back with my kids, I needed assurances that it was safe to drive the 10hrs back to Toronto. I left a $500 paypal deposit and arranged with Alex we would be there to inspect and pickup the vehicle December 23rd, I pre arranged all the importation paperwork with Canadian customer, we arrived at their location (there's yet another name on the sign True Motors which is ironic), for 100 feet away I could this vehicle was a total piece of junk. Nothing listed on the website was true. The entire exterior paint had terrible non matching touch up paint, trim falling off, hood wouldn't close properly, the interior smelled horrible, mouse crap on the floor, rips in the interior door panels, terrible reinstall on the head liner, totally cracked unsafe tires, and the best part is Alex didn't even show up after having this planned for 3 weeks and confirmed numerous times. One of his "mechanics" said he had no idea about any vehicle pickup. Judging by the mechanics demeanor and body language this was nothing new.

We left disgusted and had to re arrange the drop off of our rental car in Buffalo. Alex calls me after we left, and said "I didn't notice the tires were all cracked" and insisted they were 90% (which is a joke). And then, what a surprise, he's refusing to return the deposit regardless of the fact that he incurred no expenses. This is how a con artist makes money, misrepresents piece of crap cars, takes the deposit, and keeps it, be careful of the terms of sale agreement. I'm currently looking into suing this idiot, I don't even care what it costs, it's the principal. Do not purchase anything for these scammers, all the cars they had outside we sitting in long grass rotting away, and it resembled a junk yard. It's apparent Alex is making his living by scamming good honest people out of $500 at a time.

Exoto Inc. has never manufactured any models of RANGE ROVER or SAAB cars. The name of our company and brand is used fraudulently by this consumer.

"I didn't notice the cracked tires" that's funny

If the car was "as advertised" or even close to in the condition that it claimed, it would be sitting in my driveway

The owner didn't even show up, and no "new tires" we offered at that time. The tires were only part of the misrepresentation anyhow, this vehicle wasn't worth $2500 let alone $8500. The pictures online looked good, in reality this truck is a piece of junk

It smoked, the interior had mice in it, it smelled horrible, the dash was totally cooked etc etc

Why would I walk away from a good vehicle after coming from Toronto, 4 ailrine tickets, rental car, hotel rooms etc, the trip cost me $2000 in total

LOOK AT THE PICTURES, are those "tiny cracks", that's just an outright lie. You could the tires were crap from 100ft away

Misrepresenting cars and keeping honest peoples deposits for no good reason is really the business model here.

BEWARE CONSUMERS. Do no leave a deposit with Rover Classic, Saab Classic, or whatever other business names they use.

Tires

All you had to do was call me and wait 20 minutes !  You chose to leave......

Tires on old cars do crack, and it happened while it was siting around the lot. We did not see those tiny cracks, and as i told you on the phone, give me 20 minutes and different set of tires on same rims would be installed. You chose to leave. There is no issue with smell or mouse crap in the vehicle, you are full of it, BTW hood aligns up and locks perfectly!  You expected a brand new car, but you forgot that it is 26 years old Range rover, it is not brand new.
