Here's some facts that needs to be known about roy lamanna and his company vydia. Quotes from roy's interviews as he exposes himself as a liar and opportunist.

 http://njtechweekly.com/art/2691-10-questions-for-roy-lamanna-ceo-of-freehold-startup-vydia/

6.     When was the last time you thought about quitting your startup and going back to corporate life, or doing something else? What got you to stay?

I’ve never worked a typical 9-5, so I don’t ever think about it. I’ve been self-employed since 19 and can’t image ever changing it. I rarely wear shoes in the office. I don’t think that would fly in a corporate environment.

Roy LaManna and his team at vydia has no music industry background whatsover. When asked by nj tech weekly Roy stated and quote:

But on his linkedn he states clearly that he was the video commissioner at island def jam music group for 3 years and 10 months from 2007-2011. He also reiterates this in

iamtheindustry.com/blog/2016/05/20/an-interview-with-roy-lamanna-ceo-of-vydia-a-start-up-helping-monetize-content-for-artists/

Roy LaManna, CEO of Vydia, with over 15 years in the entertainment industry, has become synonymous with the launch of visionary and inventive companies, propelling him as the go-to guy in the music video space. LaManna honed his craft in music videos as the Music Video Commissioner for Island Def Jam Music Group, where during his tenure, he executive produced video treatments for some of the label’s elite acts from Fall Out Boy, Justin Bieber, Tyga, The Killers and Ludacris earning him praise from The Huffington Post, Parade Magazine, NJ Biz and more.

To my knowledge there is only 2 females that has been def jam video commissioner for the past 20 years and roy is never worked at def jam and in order for him to had been the video commissioner he would have to have been the video commissioner at a previous record label for quite sometime as no one can just become a video commissioner over nite without prior experience. His entire story is bizzare as you read on you will see Roy supposedly reached out to brendan kyle cochrane to work as a production assistant for Justin Beiber U Smile video. 1st off a video commissioner's job is to oversee the video production of a label's artist roster including hiring production companies to produce music videos and for roy to go from being the a video commissioner to stooping as low as working as a production assistant for a production company for justin beiber a def jam artist is absolutely nuts. In the subject title of brendan's blog Roy is named as the producer of the justin beiber u smile video when it clearly states on imvdb Andrew listermann was the producer for the u smile video. In any case I don't see how roy can have def jam cut a check to his own personal company to produce a music video for justin beiber as that will be against company policy.

Just got back from a great shoot with Justin Bieber helmed and produced by Roy Lamanna of Trendsetter Media and Marketing. Roy reached out for some production assistance for a studio shoot for the song U Smile. The first day was at a white cyclorama studio in Indiana Matt Workman director of photography. The second day was at his concert in Ohio. First time operating Red Hand held at a concert going from front row to the balconies capturing b-roll and thousands of screaming and dedicated fans. It was amazing to see the efficiency and major production that goes into concert production. These guys live on the road and pack up and break down gear like a swiss clock as soon as one venue is wrapped its on to the next one with everything moving in a convoy. Looking forward to some bigger and better endeavors with Trendsetter.

As you can see when you check the IMVDB link above you will notice that Roy Lamanna is not the producer of the justin bieber u smile video but Andrew Listermann is indeed the producer.

Vevo & Vydia are both scam services as Jordan Glickson and Roy Lamanna are trying to put other video distributors out of business by advertising on the artist Vevo page using a powered by vydia brand on each artist Vevo channel. Vevo was establish to promote only UMG & Sony artist and those are the only artist that Vevo promotes and premieres on Vevo. All independent artist are charge a $20 subscription fee + $79 to obtain a vevo channel + 50 for a vevo banner not to mention the $20 to remove the vevo branding off each artist page. Vydia in turns cuts Jordan Glickson a check for Vydia's content partnership agreement with vevo. Prior to Vydia Roy Lamanna's musicvideosubmissions.com only charged the artist $20 for their vevo channel. The artists has no way of signing in to Vevo to manage their content and engage with fans or reply to comments etc.

Monetization claims

Vydia claims to pay artist revenues for viewers screening their content which amounts to $0.00238 per viewer stream (pvs), with a range from $0.00222 to $0.0025 pvs which is less than a penny compare to the $20 you spend for their yearly subscription for your video to be published on Vydiavevo page or $79 to obtain your own vevo channel. This monetized amount you receive in royalty is crumbs compared to Spotify pay out and other streaming services that are available to the artist as the question always remain why does Vevo need to charge independent artist to get on their platform? Vydia's claim to have over 350 million+ monthly monetized streams and over 80,000+ artists in iamtheindustry.com article. This is a blatant lie which Vydia cannot prove. Roy certainly doesn't have 80,000 artist on Vydia's roster. UMG may have that many artist worldwide on their roster given the amount of labels they have acquired over decades. Roy is clearly delusional for stating these numbers as Vydia often likes to claim to distribute Universal Music Group artist new videos via email blast of the artist new video premiering on vevo, mtv, vh1, and other platforms having no affiliation to the artist or record label whatsover. Vydia and trendsetter media does this to give the false impression to potential clients that they are indeed the video distributor of all UMG and Sony content. They merely have access to see what new videos will be added to the networks playlist just as all video distributors have this access and are not giving the false impression that Vydia does by blasting out a network weekly video ads. This is petty and you should #AskVydia why do email blast on videos they have nothing to do with? #AskVydia doesn't anyone from their staff have any real music industry background and experience?

#AskVydia why do they allow kids with no music industry experience or background to council artist?
#AskVydia & Trendsetter Why do they charge 2 different tier prices for the same service?
#AskVydia When exactly did Roy Lamanna work at Def Jam as the video commissioner?
#AskVydia why do they like to lie to blogs and newspapers?
#AskVydia why do they record phone conversations?
#AskVydia why do they give free Vevo accounts to artist that disclose competitors rates?
#AskVydia where exactly is their office located Holmdel or Freehold?
#AskVydia does Vydia really care about the artist?
#AskVydia why must they lie to get clients?

Here's Def Jam telephone number. Feel free to call them up and see for yourself if Roy Lamanna worked for Def Jam.
