This horrifying experience began when my fiancee received a phone call that she had won a free trip all expenses paid as well as a camera and 100 rolls of film. All she had to do was bring me and we would sit through a 90 minute seminar. She had won this from registering at a bridal show.

We sat through this seminar on January 8, 2003 and I was manipulated into purchasing their product. I asked them at the time if I was not happy with the product if I could return it, and they informed me there would be no problem in returning the merchandise.

They took advantge of my youth and inexperience. I did some investigation of the company Royal Prestige on the Internet and found out it was a scammed business on Janury 20, 2003. I too had recently had gone to one of their seminars and was persuaded into buying pots and pans including dishes, flatware, and stem ware from them.

I signed the contract on Janury 8, 2002. I have not received the mercandise, therefore, in my best interest decided to call the company and cancel my order. I called today 1-20-03 at 4:00 pm to cancel my order. The lady on the phone told me the following:

Could not cancel

If I returned the merchandise, they would make sure I get it. If I returned it again, they would store it and charge me with storage fee.

If I did not pay, they would sue me. The only thing I could do is take in-store credit.I informed them I was a student and did not have any income.

Prior to my [phone call on 1-20-03, last week the finance company called to verify mailing addres and asked about down payment. I told them I did not pay any down payment. They said that they would get back in contact with me. The next day Royal Prestige called and told me to lie about the down payment and say I did pay $101.00, to the finance companty when they called back. They called me back and I did what I was told.

Now Royal Prestige will not let me out of the contract which was nill and void as they informed me to lie about a down apymetn that I did not give. She informed me now that Tom NIchols paid the down payment for me, which I had no inclination of. As of 4:45 pm on 1-20-03, I do not have any of the mercandise in my possession and have not paid any moneys for such merchandise. The property has not been converyed. And now they are telling me I am still liable.

do not accept cookware

DO NOT ACCEPT THE COOKWARE WHEN IT ARRIVES! They cannot charge you a storage fee. Immediately alert Ed Magneson (EDitor@badbusinessbureau.com) and let him know this company has been threatening you. Take this company to court if you have to. Eventually this company either go out of business or will only sell its cookware for what it is -- very durable, long lasting cookware -- and not based on unscientific claims (e.g, that Royal Prestige cookware will reduce your risk of cancer and problems with high cholesterol).
