Sage Telecom, Inc. Sage reported a fraudulent acct. to collection agency ,Case prosecuted in Fed. Court in St. Louis. People were convicted. Allen Texas

I was the victim of fraud. A woman using my name and SSN got telephone service from three companies in Texas in 2003-2004. All companies gave my name to collection companies. (I have never received a bill from any company nor have been contacted by any collection company.) When I received a bad credit notice I found that all three credit reporting agencies had the fraudulent information. I reported this to the Bangor Police. A Federal Court in St. Louis prosecuted several women. They were convicted. It took two more years to completely clear my credit record. In September, 2007, I had good reports.

In November, 2008, Sage Telecom sold the fraudulant account to Capital Assistance Group. In February, 2009, I applied for a home loan. I learned two credit bureaus had given me low scores due to Sage selling this fraudulent account to the collections company. I contacted Capital Assistance Group and was told they would "give the account back to Sage" and that it would no longer be on their records. On March 19, I called Sage and was told they would look into the matter.

Today I received a letter stating it was my responsibility to clear my record. I called Sage today and spoke to four people. None gave me any assistance. They said they could not "do anything". I asked if there as legal reason for this and received silences as an answer, neither confirming nor denying any legal reasons. I believe Sage knew or should have known the history of this account and has caused me both mental stress and possibly financial damage by selling this old and fraudulent account to a collection company.
