I received a letter from Prayers By Letters, Saint Matthews Churches, P O Box 22148, Tulsak Oklahoma,74121-9909. It was addressed to resident of 135 1/2 Melrose Ave, Modesto, CA 95354. When I opened it, it was a prayer 'rug' that specified that I should read it, pray, and return it next day with a donation to the church and they would pass it on to another person to be prayed upon.

I was rather suspicious and decided to look on the net for a church by that name in Tulsa. Nothing came up. I then called the Attorney General's office in Tulsa asking if they had any complaints about this mailing and they indicated there were 25 complaints filed. How do we stop these scammers from using innocent people for their own money making schemes? I think the Attorney General in
California should be made aware of these mailings and reports of such scams be made on radio and television.

wrong Cynthia ..bad/evil people will one day be our footstools, why should we allow them to rip off people when we know that in fact its a crooked enterprise

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 26, 2004

Cynthia St Matthews prayer letter while appearing to be a good cause or etc...isnt.

100% of the $$$ this guy in california gets is pocketed by him..

This particalar fake is more the devils work taking $$$ from good people than anything else.

SUpporting this fake is what those who prefer to support the antichrist are.

Its not bad attitude to identify and promote those who are fakes and are using gods good works for their own gains.

If you are a part of this,..then you too are an evil person or are so brainwashed that we all need to pray for you.

While I agree that bad/evil people will one day be our footstools, why should we allow them to rip off people when we know that in fact its a crooked enterprise that is no better than robbing somebody...

Difference is this fake setup uses religious material instead of a gun.

Havings said that,, there is a another St Matthews in Tulsa, but they are a local church and 100% legit and dont do any prayer letters except those that their congreation promote.
If you are part of that one, then I appologize for above comments though they still are valid.

Dont let these demons lead you into the darkness

AUTHOR: Cynthia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 23, 2004

I have been in saint matthews ministry for quite a while now. This ministry is not a rip off. This is God trying to get people to put him first in faith for this beautiful Kingdom that all God's children will one day live in. If you have wrote them letters and failed to receive your blessing its because you disobeyed God. For example Your lights and water are about to get cut off next week. All you have to your name is 40$.

If you put God first and sacrifice this money he will surely bless you many time over. You cant wait for your blessing with the wrong attitude. You have to be patient and expect God to bless you. If you dont receive your blessing its not because Saint Matthews is tring to scam you its because God sees your bad attitude and thats why you miss out. Try waiting with a positive attitude. It will pay off because one day our enemies will be our footstools. Just believe that god will give you all the desires of your heart. Me I am a single mother and even though I havent received all my blessing yet. I know it will come at the right place and the right time. Believe in God people and stop listening to these demons who say this ministry is fake. God bless you all!

Don't Give

AUTHOR: Billie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 03, 2004

My grandmother recieves letters from this so called St Matthews Church she no longer lives with us but the letters are still coming to our home. Today as I was desposing of the most recent letter I noticed a green pouch. I immedioately knew what it was and what type of orgaization had been sending my grandmother letters. This is a method used by seed prosperity groups. This type of group preaches a sort of health wealth gospel. Most all people who have been invovled in this type of "ministry" are known to be frauds. I read the letter and the verses they use to suppor ttheir "seed giving" are taken out of context or are even wrongly quoted.

I am not just some person trying to mudsling. I am a missionary and feel it is very improtant that faithful are not misled by groups posing as ministries. I know the importance of raising money for a real ministry purposes. Groups such as St Matthews church do not give examples of what they support. They just say they need money. They are also not members of any sort of Christian financial accountability organization such as the ECFA.

I did some research and found their webpage read and while what Marguerite expressed is written their they also mention that they do have a church in Tulsa on another part of the webpage and that if you call the area directory they could be found. They also claim to have churches all across America yet give no addresses. The most shocking thing was pictures from what are said to be outreaches. The one in LA was particularly shocking as it was an obviously doctored photo.

I continued to do some reaserch and found this webpage that gives the history of the group and its founder http://www.loper.org/~george/trends/2003/Apr/815.html .

I highly recommend you all go and visit to learn about what they do and the extravagent lifestyle the organizer lives.

For Marguerite I am sure the Lord has been blessing you not because you are sowing your hard earned money to this "ministry" though but for your faithfulness to Him. Please use discernment before giving to groups namely these mass mail groups where you have no actual person to person contact.

Your comments made me rethink my views on Saint Matthews Churches

AUTHOR: Maria - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 22, 2004

Thankyou for your insight...Your comments made me rethink my views on Saint Matthews Churches. I will reconsider it the next time that I get a letter. I am so burned out by phony things that come in the mail that it has turned me off from wanting to contribute to any organization other than my own church. May the Lord forgive me for being an unbeliever.

just a regular person, who lives a normal life and work a job as a Correctional Officer.

AUTHOR: Marguerite Garrard - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 22, 2004

I am responding to the report posted about Saint Matthew's Churches being a ripoff simply because they aren't based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma where all postal mail is sent to.

I am posting what Saint Matthew's Churches posted on the website that pertains to the above stated matter:

"Church members mail their letters to a post office in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The United States Post Office delivers the church mail to the secular firm that opens it and removes donations.
Donations are deposited into Saint Matthew's bank account from which Saint Matthew's writes checks to pay church bills. Then, and only then, every letter is sent to Saint Matthew's where they are read and prayed over five times each day."

It really doesn't matter to me where they are based out of, what is most important is that I receive an answer to my prayers when I request their assistance in partnering with me in prayer. I have been corresponding back and forth with Saint Matthew's Churches for two months now. I can sincerely say, that I have seen God move and work in my life in very positive ways. Things that I have wanted to happen for so long are now happening. I am speaking of needing my car fixed for the last eight months. Finally, through the blessing of God, I had my car repaired for a small amount compared to what I was told would be the cost of the repairs.

There are various blessings that are gradually happening in my world, and I know without a doubt, that it is God and my association with Saint Matthew's Churches.

Everything isn't for everybody. So, if a person believes that a particular program, job or church won't benefit them, then they shouldn't go that route. The evidence in my life speaks for itself. If I never saw any results from associating/partnering with Saint Matthew's Churches, I wouldn't be involved.

I am not an employee of Saint Matthew's Churches. I am just a regular person, who lives a normal life and work a job as a Correctional Officer.

Thank you for the opportunity to express my views/opinion about Saint Matthew's Churches.
