My husband and I had hail damage in North Carolina last May and did not realized it until the roof starting pouring in water in September. We have a check from our insurance company and we are trying to find a representative to sign off to order the material needed to do the job....They (Saxon) are telling me and my husband that we have to send them the check and they will disburse the money to the proper person....My dad is a contractor and has told us not to give them the check because this is a scam....They want us to send them the check, them only give our contractor 25% of the money up front, go through 2 inspections within a months time....You have to basically pay for everything out of pocket and hope that they pay the contractor when the job is done so you can be reimbursed for money that was already given to the policy holder/mortgage company. The inspection process is absurd....Anyone who has done a roof before knows that it only takes 2 days to do a roofing job at max...sometimes one day. They want to have the roof torn off, call and adjuster, wait up to 5 days for them to come out, and after they come out, when the roof is half finished they want to send someone out which can take up to another 5 days. Then when the job is complete before any funds can be released, another up to 5 day inspection has to be done. This is almost a month for a job to be completed. In the meantime the only protection your roof will have in between inspections is a tarp or plastic covering. This is not in the best interest of the homeowner or Saxon...I have been told by some other people that they will never pay out and you end up paying for the entire job. This is why you have insurance.....We have had our house for over 10 years, and never made a claim on it......now look what happens when you try to make a claim, an honest claim. All we want is our roof fixed!!!!!!! How are they going to feel when the roof caves in and they have to replace the house because of their stupidity??????

This is the most absurd thing I have ever had to deal with....I agree with all the other complaints online......This company is nothing but a rip off......When it was Novastar mortgage we never had this problem....You actually got customer service to answer your questions. We want to get our house fixed as it should be and not have to worry about it caving in, but who has 5500.00 to fix a roof out of pocket?????
