From Jul. 1 to Sep. 30 2005, SBC was running a promotion called cut the cable cord. This promotion stated that new customers sending in a copy of their recent cable bill can receive THREE months of DSL and SBC|Dish Network satellite TV services for FREE.

I, as a new customer, took the offer and ordered DSL express ($14.95/month) and SBC|Dish network satellite TV (America's Top 180, $52.99/month) on Jul. 25, 2005. Through the phone I explicitly mentioned this promotion and the SBC customer service assured me that I am eligible for this offer. Also on the same phone conversation I was told that I would receive a form to claim this offer.

In two months, I did not receive any claim form from SBC. I called their customer service afterwards and they promised me that they will send the form right away. I did receive the form later on. After filling it up, I sent it back along with the cable bill within two days of receiving the form. I called them after one month checking on the status. They told me that the satellite TV offer is processed through Dish Network and advised me to contact Dish. Although I did not take promotion from Dish, I had to call Dish on this issue.

Until now, more than 6 months after I took the promotion, I still have not received any free service according to the promotion. To make things worse, it seems it is getting nowhere. After talking to SBC customer service several times without any success, I decide to file this report in order to solve this issue.

Today (Apr 8, 2006) in my latest SBC|Dish bill, Dish Network credited me for the three months of free servce they promised. Nothing from SBC DSL yet.
