I answered an ad in the paper on Monday May 5th, the ad said "Fun work environment, MUST LOVE MUSIC" so I called them up. I spoke to Mel, who incidently was an air head, who asked me if I was looking for a full time job, where i was from, etc etc.

I was told that there were many people calling and that i should come in asap for an interview, so i scheduled one for 3pm that very same day. I went in and filled out this half sheet long 'get to know you' form, before being called in by Rob, who was the 'owner' of this branch of SCENTURA CREATIONS, called UNIVERSAL MANAGEMENT.

well i had a 5 minute meeting with Rob when he told me that he would be calling me back by 5:30 that day to tell me whether or not I had a 'second interview', well low and behold i got a call back from Noelle, the other 'owner' of UNIVERSAL MANAGEMENT, telling me that i had s second interview that Friday, the 9th, and to bring a notebook and plan on being there for an hour and a half.

so i go there on friday and we're all told we're hired and that we are "BRANCH MANAGERS" for the company and that we were to have a month, 4 weeks, of training then we would be put in charge of our own location and salesmen.

Rob went into a huge long lecture about the company and the perfume that they sold and how we wouldn't be out selling, that we would hire salesmen to sell for us and how we would be bringing in 5-700 dollars a week and making close to 45g's a year. he ended the meeting with "i'll see you on monday to fill out paperwork" i pulled him aside and told him i had to give some notice at my other job and couldn't start until the following thursday, and he said that i could start the next tuesday, may 20th, since he didn't want me to miss anything in the training.

no biggie in my head so i show up early on tuesday may 20th and once everyone showed up i'm meeting all people who work in the 'company'...i'm the only new person. well Rob starts up the meeting, and along with alot of yelling a swearing and chanting, i'm meeting the other people. i'm told that i will be out 'footing it' with another trainee and 2 branch managers.

the others come up to me and ask where my car is, since none of them drove, i had to drive! this was where i really started getting suspicous. so we head out to union boulevard in allentown, pa...we begin to go business to business to 'sell' this perfume.

i'm not talking like business building type things, this is CVS to Taco Bell to bowling alleys to anywhere. When the women at a Catholic Charities place threatened to call the police, I decided that was enough for me. I asked the girl I was "training" with if this was how things worked, if we were the ones who had to go out and sell the perfume, she replied with "Ya know why don't you write that question down and ask Rob when we get back this afternoon, cuz I can't answer that"...I told her that was it and I was taking them back to the office and I was out, she ran over to Mel, another branch manager and talked to her...

While they were talking I spoke to this guy who had been training for 3 weeks, when I asked him how many days of the 3 weeks he had been out soliciting this perfume, he told me every day!! well mel and the other girl came back and got Rob on the phone and told him what I was saying/planning on doing, he asked to talk to me. once he had me on the phone he told me that i wasn't giving this a chance that this wasn't how things were run and all kinds of other things he must have thought would convince me to stay.

i told him that there was no way i was going to continue with this and that he totally misled me in the way he presented the company to me and that i wasn't interested in this scam they had going.

i ended up leaving those other people in the middle of allentown and leaving. THIS IS A SCAM PEOPLE SO NOT GET SUCKERED IN...IF ANYONE ELSE HAS BEEN SCAMMED BY UNIVERSAL MANAGEMENT AND ROB AND NOELLE PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH ME, LETS BRING THEM DOWN TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
