Seaport Landing/bon adventure Bonadventure LIVING IN URINE AND FECES port townsend, Washington

Seaport Landing in beautiful Port Townsend Washington looks ok on the outside, looks ok in the lobby but beyond that is where the trouble begins. My father who has dementia was moved in in 2009 and things were ok at first. But as his dementia progressed and he required more care,his living conditions got worse.  They made little reports about what his care should look like but that is not how it really worked. They charged more and more for additional services but the level of care worsened. He was now paying almost $5000 per month!

His room started to stink like urine, and often he didn't have adult diapers that he needed. Staff was supposed to see that he had them on every day, but many times he did not. Soon feces were on his furniture, his bed, and his carpet. Sometimes there was no toilet paper. Because some dementia patients hide used diapers rooms need to be checked daily and soiled ones removed.

When a new director took over I was given one week to find a new facility for him. When my friends went to move him because I was living in 1600 miles away they were appalled at the condition of his room. It stunk so badly of urine it almost gagged them. There were feces on blankets,floor, kitchen counter etc. His new bed was ruined with feces and urine stains as no rubber mattress protector was used. There were a dozen soiled diapers in his dresser with more lined up against the wall mixed in with his clean clothes. Needless to say bed and dresser were thrown away.

As to number of directors, they have had 3 in three years. the first one even promised me they had  a dementia care  wing he could move to as his condition worsened. That was an outright lie. I wouldn' t send a dog to live there, let alone a loved one. Shame on Bonadventure for treating our elders this way while profiting from their misery.
