We purched a kenmore side by side freezer and icebox with the extended warranty from sear's of corpus christi texas. We have had the freezer side freezing over and then water leaking on to the floor. The tech's. that have come by to look at it say there are no parts that have failed . They told me they were going to put a heater in the drain to stop it from freezing and that if it leaked again they would replace the icebox with a new one. The water problem was back after one month.
I called sear's to report the incident and they told me they could not do anything about it. That the service center had to say the problem could not be fixed before I could get a new icebox. I called the service center and they told me that they had to replace a part four times before they would honor the extended warranty. I informed the service center that there were no parts to replace and asked to speak with the manager.
I was put on hold and then transfered from one department to another etc. I called the service center and made an appointment to have a tech. come by to take care of the problem. The tech. called to verify I was home and said he would unplug the ice buildup again because that was all he could do. I told him what the last tech. said it would be replaced and he told me I would have to use the texas lemon law to get a new icebox.I told him to send the tech. that had installed the heating unit and told me the company told him if it didn't work it would be replaced.
He came by and called the company that the problem was not fixed and that I needed a new icebox. The company tech. told him that they had installed the wrong part sent by them and that they would send the correct part to fix the problem. What now? Is Sears selling warrantys that are not worth the paper they are written on and? I think so!!!!!

I wish I would have known about Ripoffs before I bought my garage door opener from sears. I will never trust this store again. I have been a Sears shopper for years and never had such horrible service as I have had in 2009. I am so sorry you had all this trouble. Good Service is hard to find but I know not to look at Sears.
