Service Research Inc Mystery Customer Shopping Scam Rapid City, South Dakota

I received a letter with no return address. My name is hand written on the envelope. The letter is sent from Canada. When I opened the letter, there was two letters in the envelope, but also a Cashier's Check for $4992.00

The letter is from a Service Researc, Inc mystery customer employment firm. They request that you call a number when you receive the letter. First, I googled the name of the company but did not get on single hit. Then I called the number on the letter. A man answered asked for the check number. He then informed me to make 4 copies of the 2 letter and cash the check and call the number back. He did not give me any chance to ask questions.

So I got curious, I did a search on the bank that the check is printed on. It is the Bank of Oakfied, out of Oakfield WI. I called the number on the check and got a answering machine just like one on the check. So I googled Oakfied Bank and got their website and called the number on the website.

I talked to someone in Customer Service. This letter is part of a huge scam. DO NOT CASH THE CASHIER CHECK. The check may clear, but when the check gets to Oakfield there is no money and the bank will come after you to get the money. DO NOT CASH THE CASHIER CHECK. They way they make their money is thru the western union and money gram orders they want you to do as a "mystery shopper". Call this number and talk to Oakfield Bank
